Four new beaches opened
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning has opened four beaches in Wakrah,
Al-Khor, Semeisima and al-Kharayij (in Umm Bab district) after revamping the facilities in collaboration with the Public Works Authority (Ashghal). All the beaches have been cordoned with steel railings and have an adequate number of toilets, raised platforms for barbecuing, play areas for children, playgrounds for football and volleyball, beach umbrellas and canopies.

Think I will have to go and find these new beaches. Has anyone got any idea where they are? Are they signposted? How long will I have to drive around Wakrah, Al-Khor, Semeisima and al-Kharayij before I find something that looks like a new beach?
hi...was just wondering...has anyone visited any of these beaches? what's your opinion? What facilities? GPS co-ordinates?
thanks in advance
Awwww.. FA.. I'm sorry you couldn't find a customer... I don't know where you can find Bald men .. I can only tell you where you can find women tho.. But that's totally not your taste :P
CL, I am Disappointed, Last Thursday I was at Ramada Car park, but there was No one except Me...... :(
Not Even Bald Man...
Ahem, is Ramada a new beach ?
Hey,,, who wants to meet at Ramada car park??
Thing is, I don't know where Honda Showroom was, and have never heard of it before you mentioned it, but Ramada Junction is synonymous with giving directions to almost anywhere in Doha.
July 1st, Tinks:-(
be called the Radeson Blue hotel....
And agreed TB... how on earth are we going to direct anyone from Ramada signal, that doesn't know what the Ramada was?
Blu Signal doesn't sound right.
Perhaps it's the right name. I am "blu" ever since luv li lay decided to go back to Shanghai for a vacation and rest :O(
Ramada sounds better then 'Blu'....:(
Me too Britexpat!.. Ramada Hotel is now going to be called Blu from the 1st of July 2012.. I wonder why?..
Oh for goodness sake.. I misread the headline :O(
Thanks FA
Let me Check Around Wakra, Will Post GPS Coordinates out here...
HR just so you know, the time of the tide changes about 30 minutes each day. It isn't always high at the same times every day
good to hear that TB... i will try visiting the new beach in wakrah this week..
It's about the Bikini atoll, man, not about the swim-suit.
the bikini code is a must see movie then!!ROFL...Imagine Tom chasing after the Bikini bloodline all over Qatar beaches...lol,,guess they need David Hasselhoff here as well.
Nice to hear that.
please for those who happened to find one of those we really appreciate the photos, directional map and most of all your feedback.
Drive straight through the village from the main road and when you reach the coast this new facility is on the left. Not a new beach but facilities on the shore. Signposted 'Family Beach' so it might be that single guys are not permitted?
The 'beach' is very flat so depending on the tide (which varies every day - it is not constant as per a post above) you can have a long trudge to get wet.
Yeah, TB .. after huge success of Da Vinci code, and upon great public demand.. The director finally decided to come up with "the Bikini Code" .. :p
Is that the new Tom Hanks movie Mike?
What about the bikini code?
On subject... I wish they would build a toilet block at Dukhan beach.
Wow ..some more beaches to visit
Wow... they have new toilets there too !! :D
Moza: Get married or chased away while trying to access one of these “Family only" beaches ^_*
Thanks HRD. I have never been to Semaisma, and so this is definitely one that I will head for soon.
But your comment brings to the front what I suspected. These are not new beaches. They are beaches that have had a little bit of improving done.
i live 2 minutes away from this beach.. though its not new, facilities has recently been upgraded including bbq areas. There is also a park nearby.
best time to visit is around 5-9pm where the tide is high and best for swimming. do not visit during day time as the tide is too low and you have to walk at least 200m to reach the waters.
I stopped going to the beach only here in Qatar when a lot of 4WDs and Quadbikes almost ran us over plus it destroys the pristineness of the beach.
It was just 3 weeks back i have visited Khor and havent seen any new beach.
Not a problem TB.
Being single seems to be a crime in Qatar.
Hmmm I read it’s going to be only for families.

That would be ok Rizks. Not normal but ok ;)

as i am stayin in Wakrah, will search for this new beach and photograph myself near the beach with a rabbit in one hand and a carrot in other....is tat ok TB ? :)
Cheers JOC. If you find the beach, photograph it and post it here to save me the trip will you please?
to the lady in pajama and shirt with no b..? Lol! Or better yet, ask her to go for a swim!
TB, I'm living just around Al-Khor, i will check on friday and let you know.
Tats great, will one by one explore these beaches in my 2 piece cooling effect lungi's and a beach HAT ! :)
TFS big man !
I will go in search this Friday. In the unlikely event that I find one, I will photograph it and post back here. Think I will start the search in Wakrah, that is the closest. But where in Wakrah?
I have been in Al-Khor recently (about 2/3 months ago) photographing the beaches, but didn't see anything new going on there. If anyone has seen work on beaches taking place in these areas please post directions to them here.
But will wait till at least Sep/Oct to visit em all. Don't fancy being bbq myself in this weather!
TFS TB! As always an informative bit of news I'd have surely missed otherwise.
If you are coming from Doha to Al-Khor, it's just a 45 min. drive. But have not heard any new beach resort around here.
