Hey everyone! My husband and I are interested in learning arabic. We live in the west bay area so berlitz would be nothing for us. Does anyone know about qatar university, if they offer evening courses?
I'm an arabic Journalis-translator working at Qatar News Agency. im' currently offering Arabic courses during my free time. If any one is still interested please let me know.
I always recommend the fanar islamic center. You don't just get language but also walk away with a bit of culture too.
This is very important when you consider the high level of diglossia in arabic (language) but also the in seprability of arabic language & culture. Fanar also has the advantage of having an extremely ethnically diverse staff so you are pretty much gauranteed to meet someone with a shared language/ethnicity.
Anyway, it's always nicer to go to a semi-museum than to a dedicated stack of classrooms.
You will find a number of good responses to this same question. The Islamic Centre of Culture is well known, and the courses are free, the next starting the end of Jan. Not been personally, but hope to sign up for this session.
Qatar University has an arabic language for non native speakers but usually all students come from out Qatar. I think you can attend as listener anyway for more info you can contact them

Hello..
I have been trying to get in touch with Qatar University for Arabic for Non-Speakers but hasn´t been able, although tried several times.
I'm wondering if someone had done the same with better results, so he/she can forward the info to me.
Qatar University Program has been highlighter in the Paper recently, and it´s really a good place to go.
So please, if someone have the info, please revert.
Best Regards,
