I am wondering whether foreigners (or expats) wear short pants while they are arriving or leaving the Doha Airport. Can anyone kindly tell me the culture or law in Qatar about the dress codes for male and female foreigners who are travelling through Doha Airport?

Yes. You can wear a half pant on arrival. It is not recommendable to wear a half pant above the knees.

If you are travelling *through* the airport - ie just transferring and not passing through Qatari immigration, then things are more relaxed inside the airport.

Even in Ramadan the cafes are open, alcohol is being sold, it's business as usual.

Basically the same dress code would apply as if you were flying any other airline.

This is the 2nd time someone has asked such a stupid question. If you come with rugby shorts or hot pants that come to just below the buttocks, then NO, you cannot. If like any normal human being you wear normal shorts you'll be fine.

Who asks these daft questions?????

Are the same convention applies to both men and women?

Provided they are down to the knee, no problem
