itanladapo, your question is not clear. The employee shouldn’t have the Company card. Only COMPANY can have it. So your question doesn’t make any sense! Now. If you are under sponsorship of the company whose Card is expired, and you WORK for them, it’s not a problem, they simply have to renew the Card, otherwise no any immigration transaction can be performed by this company (such as exit permit, visas, etc.). Now. If you have an RP under company which you DON’T work for, THIS is ILLEGAL, and that’s why you CAN be deported!  ishu369, you are wrong!RP under company sponsorship is given to the person who WORKS for this company.ONLY! Otherwise it is illegal. Once the employee quit/terminated, the companyMUST either cancel his/her RP or to transfer sponsorship under another company! So YOUR response is incorrect! coxtown_rajan,YOUR answer is incorrect too, as you are talking about personal Qatari ID card, which has nothing to do with the question. naruto427,you are saying nonsense as well. Company card IS NOT a work permit! What the hellis THAT supposed to mean? You also mix Family sponsorship and Company sponsorship. YOUR answer is as silly as two previous ones! itanladapo,my answer to you: you MIGHT be deported because some Company has issue theillegal RP for you, and you don’t work for this company, and moreover, it lookslike this company got blacklisted, or doesn’t exist anymore. You are introuble, man! WHO will issue an exit permit for you, once you want to travel, since this company has no ID card??

NO. Not true! A Residence Permit is different from a company i.d., a person can stay in the country up to the expiry date of his/her RP. A Company i.d. is a work permit which allows you to work in a company. A person can have a different sponsor for the RP and work permit(company i.d.). A good example is a person being sponsored by their spouse and later on works on a different company from their spouse.

Both goes together, when your RP is done in the PP, next is your ID card which is ready immediately on paying the fees. Doing only RP and moving around with out an ID card is unacceptable, cause the original PP is with the sponsor, you are supposed to move around with the state ID card, in the event of any unforeseen, your ID card helps to identify who you are. Its a must to carry a ID card for all matters, Better stick to rules otherwise face consequences.

A Residence Permit is your licence to stay in the country. it doesnt matter if you are working or not. as long as you have a sponsor to renew your RP, you can stay in the country. PS: i'm not a legal practitioner
