I am from South India. I am planning to move to Doha.

I have the following questions.

1) Am i allowed to bring the Hindu God's photos and small idols for worship there.

2) Is there any Hindu temples in Doha or in Qatar

3) Is there any place in Doha to perform annually every year, the forefather's ceremony.

Pls provide your constructive reply. Jokes apart.

Thanks

Beleiver, man, a guy asks a question and you have to bombard him with mumbo-jumbo..

You ever heard the joke about Xtian missionaries:

When they come to your land, they bring Jesus. When they go, they have your land and you have Jesus.

Hai…

The Idols….photos….?

Have you ever seen the almighty God?

God Never asked you to pray in front of any idols or photos or anything like that!

See my friend please check what the Bible says about the Idols…

Psalms 115:2-8

115:2 Why should the nations say, "Where is their God, now?"

115:3 But our God is in the heavens. He does whatever he pleases.

115:4 Their idols are silver and gold, The work of men's hands.

115:5 They have mouths, but they don't speak; They have eyes, but they don't see;

115:6 They have ears, but they don't hear; They have noses, but they don't smell;

115:7 They have hands, but they don't feel; They have feet, but they don't walk; Neither do they speak through their throat.

115:8 Those who make them will be like them; Yes, everyone who trusts in them.

How this kind of god can help you to move from one place to other…

So worship a Living God….Jesus

Wishing you a pleasant stay in Qatar..God bless you!

I wouldnt pack loads of photos and Idols, I would not make a public Exhibit of them either and i would not worship anywhere other than the privacy of my home. Perform all the rituals in India, before u get here or go back there and do it.Besides once you find your community group here they always have some or the other festival and ceremony which they conduct privately. It shouldnt be all that difficult. Be carefull.

Birdie has answered all your questions..I am a Christian and there is no prblem in bringing in Bibles, crucifixes or whatever into the country, unlike Saudi Arabia where they might confiscate it at the airport if they see it..

As Birdie said, you are asking for trouble if you try to show off your religion..but there is no problem in bringing in idols or religious texts into the country, or in wearing a tilak or whatever..just dont try any noisy prayer meetings, or religious conversions..

WHY U NEED PHOTOS AND IDOLS TO PRAY GOD. GOD IS GREAT AND HE IS EVERYWHERE TO ANSWER UR PRAY. IF U REACH A PLACE WHERE THERE IS NO PHOTOS OR IDOLS FOR GOD THEN U WILL NOT PRAY TO GOD? DON'T WORRY COME TO DOHA AND PRAY TO GOD AND GET UR JOB.

1. There is nothing wrong in bringing fotos or idols of

Hindu Gods. But dont "flaunt" on it to exhibit all

that "I am Hindu devotee". Be a moderate. Keep a low

profile and perform your rituals at closed home. Again

I repeat the words - DONT FLAUNT, NO EXHIBTION

by the way, why fotos and idols in plurals... bring

one foto and one idol. You want God,,,or Gods ?

2. There was a Hindu temple and Govt kept a blind eye to

allow a little bit of freedom for other religions. But

people "misused" the freedom to start "exhibitionism"

At last Govt started action, some of them sent back to

India. !!!!

3. I dont think you have a place to do yearly rituals for

your dead relations. Either you have to go home at

that time, or you schedule the same at the time of

your vacation.

By the way, you come here to "work and earn" right ?

not to open a "branch office" for any Indian temple.

Better you decide what your priorities - to perform

rituals, then be in India. to earn money, then forget

rituals for some years
