Irresponsible behaviour of Gulf Time Reporter

All READERS,
While appreciating the peace loving people of Qatar for peaceful coexistence which is the hallmark of the State, attention of the READERS is invited to a news item which appeared in the GULF TIMES dated October 31, 2010 regarding ‘FLAG LOWERING CEREMONY ALONG INDO-PAK BORDER AT WAGAH’. The READERS would themselves agree that the insulting file photo shown as part of the story is shameful and aggressive in nature. The reporter of the GULF TIMES deliberately got it published to harm the sentiments of expatriate community living in Qatar. It is hoped that the reporter would be exposed for being follower of yellow journalism as he acted in extremely irresponsible manner in a country like Qatar which takes extra care in taking care of sentiments of the people of all nationalities residing in the State.
Thanks

The parade is very inspiration to every Indian Citizen. It's more close to their National Anthem. Should you have no knowledge about Indian Indian Military Parade. Stop your loose canon mouth.

Is it offensive because whoever wrote the caption for the image got it wrong?

Here is the original image, with the correct caption:

An Indian Border Security Force soldier (L) and a Pakistani Ranger perform the retreat ceremony at the International Indo-Pak Wagah Border, 04 November 2007. Despite the declaration of a state of emergency by Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf no change was seen in the masses of Indians and Pakistanis during the retreat ceremony at the international Indo-Pak Wagah border.

It's two clowns, obviously. Trying to make each other laugh by dressing stupidly.

Checked again to see if his trousers are torn but even that is not an issue :(

Shall we research a little bit, before posting / talking / talking up an issue to public. They are blithely unaware of the subject cause unwanted friction in the community, suffocate more than the personnel at there. :-)

You know, of all the "irresponsible behaviors" of reporters in Qatar, this one just didn't make my top 100.

It is a usual thing for both Pakistani and Indian, they know it is a aggressive parade held daily during flag lowering ceremony. Both Border Security forces do the same actions. I think he just picked this photo, should have picked some other photo, anyway, the news reporter cannot be blamed for it, as it is not a rare photograph, it is a daily routine parade. But the good news is they are going to stop it now, and instead of doing all these stupid actions, they will shake hands, lower the flags and close the gates of Wahga Border.

Brit, the picture used for the article is an issue here.

By galloper48• 1 Nov 2010 14:55

a reporter himself (or herself) can not publish a photo

it has to have (at least) the approval of the chief editors; and yet if the picture is covering a really delicate issue then gov. approval will be needed (required)

So with all my respect why is it "so insulting". Isn't this something happening? Aren't both sides of the border agreeing that this has to STOP.

Once again and with all my respect; why is it "so insulting"

Regards!!

It was a choreographed event anyway. Maybe the dance directors from both sides retired.

Anish - The journalist did his duty. The flag-lowering ceremony at the Wagah crossing between India and Pakistan, known for the aggressive and hostile manner in which it is carried out. Browse to see videos on this title in you-tube. It's part of their parade. You post is the creating the friction. Spectators gather around to watch this spectacular event each day.
