Can my boyfriend and I go to the movies, restaurants, nightclubs, corniche or be in the same car together ? Are we allowed to hold hands in public ? Looking forward to your answers

Going by Qatar constitution the answer is NO but resent civiliasation inculcate that. It's now left for an individual to make his choice but on a saver side going by the law is LEGAL.

First month of my marriage my wife wanted to hold my hand when we walk through Corniche and I refused I dont want to show-off infront of public, I feel shy but for her after the marriage it was a thrill to hold the hands of husband and walk in public places. She was complaning about it you dont allow me to do it. Now after long years I wanted to hold her hand in public places but she is refusing. This is life???!!

If you hang a board on your neck "WE ARE UNMARRIED AND DOING DATING" it will be problem.

Dating is not illegal. However you should be discrete and if you are not married then dont hold hands or show any affection in public is the general rule.

HI GUYS,

I HAVE BEEN IN KFC SALWA ROAD LAST MONTH. AND INSIDE THERE WAS A COUPLE, (I AM SURE UNMARRIED)AND WOULD YOU BELIEVE THEY WERE EVEN KISSING AND HUGGING IN PUBLIC. THEY WERE DRUNK. THERE WERE QATARIS AS WELL AND NOBODY RESPOND TO IT EVEN.

I THINK THE RULES HAVE CHANGED HERE IN QATAR.

PDA(public display of affection) is unacceptable in MIDDLE EAST..And one has to respect this..

Sis,

I don't see any problem about that as long as you act normal and maintain your decency at all times. We are in Qatar and not in KSA.

Cheers,

Public displays of affection are frowned upon but I doubt if 2 white Americans would be accosted - public displays of affection between genders just isn't done, even between married couples in this part of the world. That said, if you were holding hands in public I doubt if anyone would demand to see a marriage certificate.
