Hey guys, is 40-45k/month all inc. good? i have been offered a role in Doha. Seems pretty good and better than what i am on in the UK. I get around 12k a month for the 2 of us for housing? appreciate your responses. cheers guys?
doha-infidel - thanks for the info.
cherukkan - lol - its looking likely - thanks for the laugh
40-45k is mid-level I think..
12k for housing is a decent 2 bedroom...
Grab it and proceed.
hahaha - i think i am a loooooooooooonnng way off there GREATQATAR but thanks
Rich - thanks for that - i was looking at the beverley hills compounds - they look ideal for us and 11k sounds perfect. totally agree on the pint of milk scenario.
is anyone aware of any good URLs i can look at for qatar leasing?
thanks for everyones input - helps a lot.

Al Waab is a good area, pretty much everywhere in Doha is fine apart from the Industrial Area. Depending on what you want, it is probably a good idea to get a compound with plenty of facilities- pool, shop, gym etc. Driving here is a pain in the arse so you don't want to have to get in your car for the occasional pint of milk etc. Also, we found it far easier to meet people and make friends on a big compound. Personally, we're in one of the Beverly Hills compounds. 11k a month for a three-bed and great facilities.
hahaha - thanks lord_90. sorry i am not really aware of how ranges fully work in qatar and am still trying to read up on all this stuff.
u kidding me!
the average range is 18-25K
so u tell me what do u think?!
u should give me 5K every month
thanks rich - no kids......yet although they have said an allowance will be included if we have any that would require schooling. ideally id like to spend less than 12 for a decent place. i guess i will look around. is al-waab a good area/compound. have heard it thrown around quite a lot an believe it supposed to be in demand?
12k for housing is plenty. A three-bed apartment on a good compound is around the 10-11k mark. Alternatively you could get a villa on the smaller compounds for a similar amount. I assume you don't have children in education. If you do you really need to factor those costs in as schools over here are v expensive.
PS Welcome to Doha!
Thanks for the response MM.
Congrats...!!
