HI all, just a little nervous whether this will be ok to survive on. I will have to rent a car and pay for a cell while there but will have free housing. Help, please! Thanks!!

Sorry I guess I wasn't clear. It's 6,000 US per month but I won't be paying rent. With the conversion rate is that approximately 18,000QR per month? Thanks for the help!

i dont know ur circumstances ie are u already in qatar, the hours of the job and do you have higher than secondry education. I moved here in september only having secondry education. I have applied for over 250 jobs and am still looking i thought i could get more than 5500 for a 6+1/2 day job in January so didn't take but now wish i had, just to be working, getting out of the house and doing something with my days. I am on a 6 month visa but i have to fly out of the country every month- expensive when ur not employed!

negotiate, car, housing, telephone & food allowance from your company, your 6k should be your monthly net & you'll be ok as bachelor.

Well 6K is not enough because its nothing in these days .Starting basic salary from 8500Qrs + mobile allowance + car allowance + other allowances + home allowance. It also depends at which place you are working and your job designation matters alot.

Ur profile states u are from US of A .... I think 6K a month may not be good enough.... but again depends if u are different than how people from US of A are generally presumed to be living...then may be just OK.

for more detailed analysis just click on the link "sample budget & cost of living" on the right side of this site under "Guide to Qatar" ...and u can workout things depending on ur requirements..

Wish you luck and welcome to Qatar in advance if u finally make it...
