Hello All,

I have received an offer from Qatar and CTC is QR19500 but accomodation, transportation that I have to manage. This offer is all inclusive.

I have my family, we are three (Myself+Wife+Kid) so by looking at this CTC is it OK to grab this offer?because I am not aware of the avg. expense on Living(Accomodation), Transport,Food, Utility,Entertainment, etc

So kindly requesting you if you could provide me some valuable information then it would be better to take the decision on the offer.

Thanks in advance.

Try to negotiate for some accommodation or transportation allowance. For kids education allowance. Even if you get partial coverage its good.

@Naik, although its difficult to know whether the visa is a "Project Visa", u can ask them about the visa details and ask if it is work visa and no project visa.

IT dept as a Business consultant...shouldn't be it like Business Development dept as Business consultant? What will a business consultant do in IT dept...well, if ur going to work in RG then ur gonna have a good career for sure...provided ur visa doesnt stops u from having one..so it all comes down to what kind of visa ur being offered. if u wanna switch later, can u, thats the question u shud be looking at. 19.5 is good salary but im sure when u will work with RG ull have more opportunities to grow. and then 19.5 will look like a midget. email me if u wanna talk more.

@C Naik. like brit expat said this question has been frequent on qatar living. if u search u will get all answers. I am posting one of my replies earlier to someone asking same question.

=============================================

Family 1BHK semi furnished will be around 4k-8k in Doha and 2k-5k outside Doha

Food if you cook - 200 QR per month per head

Food if you dont cook - 1k to 1.5k per month per head

Travelling if you live in Doha and dont have a car - 1k QR/ month

Travelling if you live outside Doha and dont have a car - 2k to 3k QR/month assuming your office will be in Doha and you will have to travel everyday

schooling is expensive. take 2k every month.

total would be somewhere around 8k to 12k per month expenses.

When you apply for license then you will spend around 4k to 5k QR and then you will need a car. so plan accordingly. You will not be able to bring your family right away will take atleast 3 months for you to come and setup everything before u can start application for family visit visa.

19.5 is not bad because not many get the same kind of salary. But, remember that unlike India there wont be any appraisals every year. so ur looking at the same salary for atleast 3-5 years. Do not look at what you are getting it in INR by converting it. Think of it 20k INR salary (non Metros).

I would say, if you like the job and company is good, then take it and make sure your visa is transferable and its not a project visa.

You can find a 2-bedroom semi-furnished apartment around QR 5000. Your monthly expense for food, water & electricity, internet will be around QR 2000. Add another QR 1500 for your transport and other miscellaneous expenses if you maintain a car. Schools are costly and I do not have much idea on the cost as it varies from school to school. Trust this helps.

Or, make a simple comparison between the offer and what you have now. If it's 3-times higher, take it. If not, stay where you are.

And, if you come with your family, the company should give you yearly air-tickets home and health insurance for each of you.

Flat (2-bed room) 6,000, transport 2,000, energy and water 500, school for kid 1,500 to 6,000 per month, phone and Internet 500, food: I don't know what and how much you eat. In general: it's possible depending on your life-style.
