Dear Friends,

Currently I am considering an offer from a telecom operator as a Project Manager.

Basic Salary they are offering is 26000. House Rent will be  around 12000 Per month, Transportation will be around 2000 + Medical insurance + child education+ air ticket to home country.

Is this a good offer. Please guide me.

 Regards

 Jahangir

depends entirely on what part of doha you're looking at. housing is cheapest in the industrial areas, followed by areas like Al-Sadd, then West Bay/Pearl. Check the classified section of QL. you'll get to choose what kind of apartment you're looking at, including price range.

Dear all, Thanks alot for your feed back.

@Consultant01, thanks for your comments; apart from basic salary, i will get 2 basic salaries/yearly as a bonus.I did not get a final offer yet, i will update here as soon as i will get it and will have your views on that. How much unfurnished 2-3 bed room will cost?

man...i don't know what kind of ultra-luxurious life you lead hamda2013 (maybe you manage 3 cars, and pay multiple mortgages, i don't know....), but 26000 QAR should be enough to support a family and then some, specially when his housing and schooling is covered.

the biggest component of any budget is housing. he is getting 26000 QAR IN ADDITION to his housing allowance.

i think its less at least u should get 40000. 26000 is nothing for Doha life.hard to live

it's a good offer. try to negotiate the basic salary to 30000 QAR, and also clarify how much they will offer in relocation bonus.

The more experience you have, the stronger your bargaining power. The thing is that there is a strong demand for skilled labor in Doha, and a lot of companies struggle to find employees who are willing to relocate, are skilled, and get client approval from local authorities to work. This often puts the employee in a strong bargaining position. So don't settle. Make a strong case to your HR guy, and ask for an increase.

Be sure that company is well structured, stable enough and salaries are on time. The term 'Project Manager' varies from small organisation to big one. Also the amount of pressure has to be considered including the nationalities of the people you have to work with before taking up the new assignment.

If you are an Asian, this is more than enough or a better deal, if you are a westerner, this is peanuts.
