Delayed Salary

I am calling the attention of the person who has a well knowledge about the standard procedures in the Labor Dept. when it comes to salary matters. There’s a complaint from the employees of a well known contracting company here in Qatar that their salary has been delayed for 3 months already and none of them has the guts to raise this matter to their management for some reasons such as this could be the end of their contract or they (the management) may put them in a very difficult situation.
I would really appreciate if you could give them your professional advice so they can act on it accordingly.
Thanks

some dont even get a salary at all. If they are that brave and can handle the worst scenario let them file a case at lobour ministry.

Ok, what you are saying is 3 months delayed salary is luckier than the situation of the other labourers. I think you're right, but still, these employees have their own family back home and waiting for their monthly remittances. This is not tolerable and has to stop those employers who are taking advantage of their employees when it comes to salary matters. How do we avoid this bad situation to happen?

these poor labourers are at the mercy of the employer......they pay a fortune to come and work here...then work for a meagre 500 or 600 riyals/month...all their money goes into repaying the loan taken to come here.....they r allowed to go home once in 2 yrs...they r exploited right from their origin ie in their own country....y blame the qatar government only

The best way to handle this situation is to visit labor office and file a complaint and ask the athorities to not disclose the name of person filed a complaint.

The authorites will sure consider and will not disclose the name.

Once the officals from labor office visit the company and ask for details everything will be in black and white.

Ask your friend to go to labor office with a letter (without mentioning the name) and submit it to labor office.

u can file a complaint to the labor dept and c what happens.....my advice is dont do it....your employer might give u problems.....there are so many laws in thee labor dept which are not followed....90% of the trading companies work 6 days a week and more than 10 hrs in a day.....only solution is get used to it or leave

The government authorities are too busy trying to implement rules when it comes to dress codes in clubs/bars, alcohol in events etc. instead of focusing on ongoing problems that need their immediate attention.

I think it would be better to seek the advice of any labour lawyer here regarding this matter coz as I remember last time, I red in gulftimes that the government is going to randomly check companies who doesn't give their employees salary on time but it seems that the government authorities are sleeping.

the Gulf.......

Contractors are fully dependent on the Govt/minstrial dept for timely release of payments. Suppliers and contractor have to wait for several months.
