Different Ramadan timings
I found that there are two types of working time for Muslims & Non Muslims during Ramedan , Is it legal in Qatar to treat muslims and non muslims like this ? .
While Muslims work for 6 hours during Ramadan time , Non Muslims are forced to work 8 hours as normal .
If this Illegal in Qatar why labour departments are sleeping ?
with respect to our Muslim brothers, they do fasting and normally less sleep during Ramadan period.. let us not compare ourselves regarding working hours if they only spend 5hrs in the office or site. A simple logic or common sense will answer our questions regarding working hours during Ramadan... Some companies allowed their staff in the office work for only 6 hours because most of other clients and/or suppliers have the same working period of time... most of all companies were closed from 2pm onwards, so even if you work beyond 2pm who will you make business with if all Bosses and staff were already at home praying and fasting? and for laborers, esp on site like constructions and manufacturing, usually working 8 hours, will be depends on the period or terms required on the project itself, if they have deadline to catch they will be force to work on normal 8 working hours. The company needs to comply within the agreed contract regardless of any situations. they have to meet the deadline otherwise theyre reputation will be at risk or will endure penalty and/or consequences for beaching transpired with the contract. Let us be more neutral and nonjudgmental to all our Muslim brothers. Respect for everyone.
There is company wer Muslim work for 6 hour and non for 12 hour and also work start at 3 am ther is poor brothers slaving here u people crying for 2 hr

if you think you are not treated fairly, then you have the right to complain, that's it - if you're ready to lose your job as well... for the sake of 2 hours....
My company has made schedule like 6 hrs for Muslims and 8 hrs for Non Muslims with out any overtime. Is this an offence??
Of course we should work less than non-muslems , they are not fasting plus we never complain when company's give non-muslims holiday in Christmas & new year while we're working.
The Labor Law is very clear. The maximum hours to work per day for employees during Ramadan is 6 hours. A maximum of 2 additional hours can be worked as paid overtime. If your company isn't following the Labor Law, don't feel bad - go to the court and file a case. Simple.
There's a good reason why Muslems work only for 5 hours in Ramadan while non Muslims not. All companies need to operate normally even in Ramadan ,so stop being blinded by you greed & hate. Just spend that time thinking instead of complaining
Im working at airport all the employee has to work 6 hours included all religion in ramadan .
I had non seen this kind of treatment yet ........ which company you are talking about ????
are you forced to work 8 hours .......
CTLOG, we are here in Qatar not in Saudi.
CTLOG, we are in Qatar no in Saudi.
If you are working 8 hours per day in Ramadan you are entitled in the Labor Law to receive those extra 2 hours as overtime. If you are confident that the law will treat you fairly and according to what is written then go to court and file a case.
It is legal in Saudi Arabia for non-muslims to work for normal 8 hours than muslims for 5 hours who are fasting. This is nothing wrong. Why do non-muslims work for less time - they are not fasting ?
Lots of things are illegal which is why there are courts and ministries to report them.
Govt. (MOI) should follow up the matter . I know some office working like 08.00AM-1.00PM again 08.00PM-12.00AM both for muslim and non muslim worker & office staff. Surprising things is owner of the company is muslim also not giving over time to any staff. acording to him there is no reduction work hour for any staff, everyone need to work as usual.
Violation of Rights of workers , Moi must send a clear message to all Qatari Owned Companies to respect rights of workers irrespective on the religion .
