Hi! Just got an offer for a junior architect position. I'm married and my husband will be coming with me, also with an offer a lil bit higher. Mine is 6,000 QR, free accomodation and transportation, medical and educational support including family. I would like to know if this offer is sufficient or not if we are to start a family life there in Doha, save for our life after Doha in the Philippines. Hoping for your advise...thank you.

question4mash, yeah, i think it's way too low considering that according to some threads, accomodation alone can eat up much of your budget. i guess u should try to negotiate again and ask the details regarding the benefits. i've read somewhere here, teaching gets a higher pay...

Question4mash, is that 2500 QR per month? That's shockingly low for any job here in Qatar even with housing included. Food and transportation could swallow that up in a hurry.

I have same Question with different values to fill-in. i am a Trainer from india. I got a job offer from one of the Private teaching organisations, but the Quote is little over 2500QR as basic pay, Medical, Housing is free. I have very little clue of what are the other benifits and pitfalls in accepting this offer. Also, I don't Have clear idea about the expenses which could be incured during the stay. could you please help me in deciding on the same.

Thank you for the responses.

Well, just the basics at least like food, utilities (i.e. electricity, water, telephone, internet, mobile phone and cards for international calls). If we can have a rough estimate of these expenses in one month, we can have I guess an overview of how we will go with other stuff like clothes and dining outs. We were somehow confused with what other forums were stated. That for two persons including accomodation and transportation, it might go to 12,000 QR at least. But for us, since these two will be offered by the company, expenses might go down to 3,000 QR. A friend had also shared that for him alone, he could go at 500 QR maximum. We are not much of an outgoing type of persons but of course since we will be new there, we will surely see the place with friends once in a while.

one world.one love.
