Grocery & Utility Expenses in Qatar
Hi
We are a family of 3 trying to reallocate to Doha on a Company assignment. Can you please guide me with what will be approximate charges per month for
1. Grocery Expenses Expenses for a family of 3 (Veg.)
2. Utility Charges (Electricity+Water+Others)
3. Telephone+High Speed Internet + Cable
While I have been searching the internet there is very little or old information available.
Any help info will be appreciated

Maratara

I have been told that for Visa stamping you require Original degree and birth certificates which get attested on the ORIGINAL without any lamination by the Qatar embassy which charges approx. INR 5000 per attestation.
Do they stamp on the original document by tearing apart the lamination if any. How far is this true ?
please guide

1. Grocery Expenses Expenses for a family of 3 (Veg.) - QAR 1500
2. Utility Charges (Electricity+Water+Others) - QAR 500 (for a 2 bedroom apt, i.e.)
3. Telephone+High Speed Internet + Cable (cheapest is QAR 250 - 1mb connection)
Will those friends, whose homes were ambushed to save a few QR's, never come back visiting. What will happen to the expenses then or is it one way traffic. BTW the idea itself is crass. Cannot understand how someone can even suggest such a thing.
Approx:
2,000 for groceries for a month ( veggie style)
600 for water & electric
400 for wifi
300 for mobile ( each)
500 min per week if you are going for a family day on weekend.
Price are subject to change without prior notice.. :-)
Mara spend the all 4 weekends at different friends / colleagues' homes to reduce the expenses to a considerable extent ....
my grocery are 1000 ++ per week
1000 for a family? she said per month, not per week.. you will definitely need more than 1000 unless you want to survive on bread and milk
A very resonable calculation, By Acchabaccha
Grocery Expenses would be around QR 1000.
Utility Charges would be around QR 600.
Telephone+High Speed Internet Cable would be around QR 550 per month but the initial cost of installation during the first month will be higher.
