hi to all

i m living outside of Qatar. i will have a phone interview with a manager from qatar airways. before i applied to a manager position but i knew that i don t have enough qualification for a manager position. just i wanted to give a try. after one month i have received an email for a phone interview invitation.it isn t written exactly which position they want to discuss just a date for the phone interview. so i wonder what the manager may ask i don t have any aviation experience by the way.what is the avarage salary at qatar airways and the working athmosphere, benefits, accomadation.

what is the hiring procedure at qa? if my phone interview goes well, will i be invited in person interview in doha? and if it is so who would pay the visa expenses and travel cost for the interview. i have never gone to an interview outside of my home country so i wonder what the procedure is. by the way i m a woman so how to get a working visa in qatar as a woman. do i need approval of my male relatives?

thanks for your prompt replies and for your nice words cadet. actually i m planning to call the hr department to confirm what kind of position they are thinking.

most probably it won't be a manager level position because as i said i don t have any aviation experience. even i can say i don t have enough work experience :) approximately just 1,5 years excluding my internships. i m very curious what the manager will ask. he s an arab by the way. but i don t have any clue whether he s a qatari or not.

As you have received an interview call within 1 month of applying for the Manager position, it would be fair to assume that the interview will be for the Manager position. It's strange that the email you have received for the interview does not specify the position for which you are being interviewed. If the email is not an "auto-generated" response, then you might reply asking for confirmation for which position you will be interviewed.

You do not have to be "designated" or have worked as a Manager in your previous work experience to apply or get selected for a Manager position. The interviewer will be trying to assess whether you have the skill sets to handle the job responsibilities. Prepare for the interview by making a list of the job requirements and then against each of these list down your skills which will help you accomplish these requirements. You have mentioned "NGO" in your profile, if this means that you have worked for a NGO in your country, then you must have acquired skills which will be pretty useful as a Manager. Finally, be honest - to yourself and to the Company.

You can start thinking about salary and benefits once you get shortlsted for this position. How much money you need is a very personal question and depends on your individual requirements. You can browse this site to understand the cost of living in Qatar and then based on your position decide how much money would be sufficient for you to make the move from your home country to Qatar.

If you get selected then the Company will take care of the visa requirements.

I wish you all the best.
