Is it worth it ?

Hi everyone,
Before I post my message I was reading a lot in the forum about how much it cost to live in Qatar and how much is a good salary in relation to living cost and savings, I made some calculations and it end up to be that now I am saving a little bit more than half of the amount that I will be saving in Qatar. At the moment I live in Kuwait with all my family, I am in the property management business, I got an offer in property consultancy company in Qatar through an online recruitment agency for a Senior property manager position with monthly salary 30,000 QR all together nothing is included (house, medical, transport, etc.)
I have a lot of financial obligations as my immediate family will leave Kuwait in July ’09 to Singapore to settle and they will be counting on me financially, also my siblings in Kuwait they are in-need of my financial support too. In my current position, my salary is 14,000 QR with free huge apartment and medical insurance, but the working environment is not healthy at all.
Dear members, what you think of the offer since until now it is only on the phone and I am planning to visit Qatar to meet the employer before committing to anything. Another thing, is it worth it to leave my kids and wife alone in Kuwait till the time come for them to leave to Singapore in July? Also, does the property management business in Qatar have potentials or is it just a new concept to the society ?
I would appreciate it if your comments are objective and realistic. Thank you all. Cheers

Ahmed,

Please would it be possible to know how you sourced your post and what company it is with. My husband and I are from the UK. I have secured a job in Qatar but my husband is still looking...his background is Property and Real Estate and is currently the Director of a Property company in the UK. He is also a certified Mortgage Consultant...he has applied to many companies via the internet but never gets a reply. Any help would be appreciated. He is only looking for a salary as he gets housing and additional package through my post and position. We are looking to move to Qatar by mid March 2009...............thank you for any help you can provide

Ahmed_Saeed65....

If you dont have your family here then you can find yourself a place for QR 1200 to QR 3000. Add to it QR 3000 as expenses maximum. Buy car by paying QR 1500 per month for 5 years. You can send home QR 22,000 permonth easily...dont worry.

Problem is if you want your family here then the expenses increase drastically!!! QR 7,000 to QR 15,000 for house Plus QR 3,000 grocerries, Plus school fees. etc. Water & Electricity bill will be more. Cost on transport will be more (2 cars maybe). Etc.
