I am Mechanical Engineer. presently working as senior Oficer in Indias Govt Oil Company HPCL. Having Total experiance of 6.0 yrs. I have been offered Job by QATAR FUEL WOQOD as safety Inspector. Offer is:
Basic:6800 QR/Month
Accomodation: 13200 QR/Month
Transportation All: 2000 QR/Month
Furnishing All: 45000 QR.
Medical for full family.
Resident Permit for family.
Air travel to India free for family once a year.
Child Aducation 75% financed by company for three childrens.
Annual Bomus.
My standard of living in India is Middle class.
Kindly advice is the offer good and How much can i save per month if i take 5k to 6k QR as cost of accomodation per month.
Please advise as i have to make decision of my life ........

I am senior engineer and can tell you that the basic salary is very bad comparing to the other benefits which are so far so good.
are you moving to doha alone or with your family?
you can get a family house for 6500(unfurnished 2 bedrooms flat)
your monthly expenses is not less than 3000 qr if you have 2 kids and it depends on your life style.
good luck and try to negotiate the basic salary
please note that you will get your paid vacation and bonus and many other benefits based on your basic salary
qatar is a nice country to live in.
As far as your basic salary is concerned the offer is not good. This offer is not a senior staff position comparing to your basic salary. As a mechanical Engineer and also you have experience in oil/gas field you can search in Qatar Gas, Ras Gas or Qatar Petroleum as a senior staff with a basic payment of more than 10,000/-.
Looking into the current scenario, this is a good offer and the company offered is also reliable. Dont hesitate to accept the offer but only one thing you have to think about your career change as you said you are a Mechanical Engineer and as a Mechanical Engineer why you are opting for /or offering a Safety Inspector grade? If 13200, then very good offer I must say.

The offer you are getting, benefit wise is the best in Qatar, I can't say if the salary is according to what a engineer may get, but the housing and other benefits, what you will get, you will be satisfied. These days a normal 2 BR furnished apartment in Doha costs 5000 p/m and family expenses doest go beyond 1500 p/m.
So, that means you are completely saving your basic, half of the housing in your pocket, about a lakh rupees.
As far as transportation is concerned, there will be no problem in financing a new car, company may also lend you interest free loan to buy a car. A normal toyota saloon car costs 60000 riyals.
