Management offer from QP - please advise

I have been offered a 24-month staff contract by QP to do a management/senior technical job in oil and gas exploration. The terms are comparable to similar expat jobs in oil and gas in other where I have worked, but I wonder how they compare to other jobs and companies in Quatar?

The goodies:
Equivalent of US$20000/month salary
10% bonus at the end of the year
5 weeks paid leave
house, car, computer
health cover
annual biz-class flights for me & wife.

Kids are grown so no need to find schools.

I understand there is no local income tax in Quatar, can you confirm?

Yeah, it's a good one! Welcome to Qatar. You can tell they are paying a top salary by the business class tickets.

it's a pretty good offer...but at the end of the day it isn't about how good the offer is, it's about how lousy your other options are...but i can tell you straight out that you're not being screwed or anything, it's a solid offer. good luck making the right choice!

Well thanks guys and girls. I am aware of the tax implications for Americans working in a country that has no income tax. That means no foreign tax credit. Unlike other nice countries, the dark hand of the IRS always reaches after us...

But on pure merits of the offer, is this a good offer for a senior technical guy/project manager in the Quatar oil industry?

Take it. No tax here.

There is no local income tax in Qatar but obviously you'll still have to pay your US taxes (so what Voldemort says isn't exactly correct - you don't keep everything!).

Is your 10% bonus additional to the '3 week bonus per year worked' that you get when you leave the job (which is part of Qatar labour law)?

PS. There's no 'U' in Qatar!
