Montessori Teacher

Asalam-o alaikum, I got an offer to work in Qatar as a Montessori teacher. I am living and working in Canada at the moment. Wondering if I should come to Qatar with my 2 young children 14 and 12 years old. They would learn about Islamic culture and gain some Arabic knowledge. Please give me suggestion about how much Salary expectation i should ask for and what other benefits or allowances I could receive. In Canada I am getting around $4000/month.

Jazakallah,
Sister

Peace be with you too. I have my kids at DBS. I love the school. I have no complaints so far. However 4000US is just less than 16,000 Riyal. I doubt if they offer this kinda salary here for a teacher. Honestly I don't know.

If they do give you accommodation and full school allowance for your kids, I suppose it would be okay to accept anything between 10k - 13k. You will def not spend the whole amount on food + petrol+bills. You might spend at most 5000 riyal on these.

As for Islamic culture and Arabic knowledge, I would be a bit hesitant to say my kids enjoy that at DBS. Large majority of the kids and teens there speak English. As for Arab culture, I can't say it is much promoted at the school.
