Hello Everybody,

I am living in UK and planning to move to Qatar. I have been offered a job in Local bank in Qatar. They offered everything included 20,000 QR Per month + 25,000 Furnished Allowance + medical Care + 24 working days holidays. Please can somebody guide me would that 20,000 QR be enough for me to live there as a single initially then might be my family (Wife and a 3 years old BOY) will join me later on. How much would i be able save per month? How much i have to pay if i am looking for a single bedroom furnished flat? Can somebody guide me any website where can i get a rental information etc? Thanks.

I am going to get 15000 per month + housing + kid's fee. Is that good ? I currently live in US and make more than that. I just wanted to try being closer to India for a change. Am I making a mistake ?

Tallg. It says furnished allowance, and I read it is a one off payment, as he does not indicate it is per month!

Therefore, I see no mention of housing.

Tallg, I read it as a one-time furnishing allowance of 25,000 and then he says he's looking for a one-bedroom furnished flat. So I think there's a bit of ambiguity here. Or maybe it's just too early in the morning for me.

Try and read the post properly before replying people! He says he gets a housing allowance.

As for whether that's enough, it totally depends on your lifestyle.

i think 25,000/- is your housing allowance right?

That is a very good allowance if it is how I read your post.

You need to ensure that you get school fees for your child. It is a typical allowance given by banks etc..

yes, if there is no housing allowance, then you will have high outgoings on accommodation. your salary seems at a good level, but if the company is including housing on that, then expect it to half with accommodation, bills etc.

Yep negotiate housing and school allowance for your boy these are two high costs.

you got to bargain a lil bit more. request for housing allowance too! never forget that.. the minimum costs of a single-bedroon furnished apartment is like.. 7k.. not really sure.. you can check it out on gulf-times.com and look for the classifieds section.

cheers,

paul :D
