New to Doha...Salary question for a VP

Hello,

We have just started a new company here in Doha. I have been taxed with stating this company by our GM/Owner. I worked as a consultant for his US based company on the Dubai Mall and took a full time position in Michigan with them. I have been asked to stay here and trying to figure out what a fair salary would be for a contract and/or on a temporary basis.

I have a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a Six Sigma green and black belt certification. I have been with this company for 2+ years. I am a caucasion that is an American and speak/read/write only English.

Any help is greatly appriciated! Thanks ahead of time for your answers/comments.

Regards,
Cowboy

hi Cowboy 5096

One site that would be helpful is bayt's Salaries platform. It will help you get a feel of what salaries in Qatar for someone with your qualifications and in your specific industry would be - here's the link for you: http://www.bayt.com/en/salaries/countries/qatar/

Also if you want a better idea about what salaries in Qatar are looking like today, you can read through our Bayt.com 2011 Middle East Salary Survey - here's the link: http://www.bayt.com/en/research-report-9823/

i hope this helps :)

Good luck!

I know this is not the best place to be asking the question but thought I might as well ask it. I can always sift through what is sent.

Thank you for a good honest answer. I would be happy with current agreement but it is no fun paying on a farm in the states and living here lol.

Easy. Ask for twice as much as you had in Michigan.otherwise it's not worth it. I just came from US (short vacation) , I brought two suit cases full of clothes and shoes for the price of one decent dress purchased in Qatar. Yes, gas is more expensive, the rest is amazingly cheaper. Ask for double salary.
