HMC is now mainly doing overseas recruitment and thats the best way to get in. try jery varagese recruits ,i heard they are the ones whos doing teh bulk of recruitents for HMC. while recruiting frm local people ,many have done locum and then they havent given continuation. another problem is that now yo need MD+DipNB to get a sepcialsit post by NHA, if not you have to write an exam and even then you wil get only a Gp post. this is a rule which have come in new and hope that it changes , thsi has mainkly affetced the indian docs.

i think come under yor hubys sponser and get in2some poly clinic for time being and then try2get in2 hamad , but first complete you MD without that your options are very limited..

as for pay its start from 10,000 til 15000 and all depends on experince also.min most places weer asking is 3 years.and for ladies they dont give accomdation allowance if sponsored by hubby, there is a rule that only one -either hubby or wife will get housing alowence and not both. if there are anyone in ths site with both getting alowence then they are the luckiest.

dont think about pay when you come down,anyway you have 2 come since your hubby is here ,get a foot holding and then you can jumb to better job .

not necessary gypsygal...it all depends upon experience and little wasta will help.there are lots of keralites here so someone will definitely help you out for the better.

they have increased the pay scale now so a little more than what i had suggested earlier is possible.

housing is provided if you are on the hmc sponsorship else its just basic salary and shift allowance.maybe transport....but i dont think housing or allowance for it.

I dont know if they are recruiting Lady Doctors from India, allowances varies for local hire and poeple hired from abroad. You will be getting a housing allowance. I dont have any idea about the salary. Nurses get around QR. 12,000 including all allowance, obiviously Doctors get more than that.

hello. if you are under hubby's sponsorship, the companies dont provide you with accomodation.

also for doctors, they have to sit for some sort of license exam or the hospital exam and clear it. this is also applicable for peopel having done their MD. once you have a license number you can either work for a clinic/hospital or have your own private practice,,,but cant do both as in India.the pay is good but normally you will get the position of resident doctor or soemthing like that...its a junior position.but there are many options.....sometime back there was only HMC but today there is a wide variety to choose from. you can opt to work in any of the polyclinics...gain some experience and then try for the hospital. basic salary will vary from 4000-8000 in my opinion.

the cost of living is high right now and rents are crazy...so when you hubby comes here it would be wise for him to come with family accomodation provided in the contract...else you will be hunting for a place and its difficult.

If i'm coming there under husband sponsorship and getting a job in HMC, shall they provide accommadation? coz i heard that living cost and house rental is very much increased and this is going to shake the qatar economy..what you say?..Thanks in advance..

Welcome to Qatar Living.....the most happening site in Qatar. For HMC you can apply through their website. There are many new private Hospitals in and around Doha. As your Husband is working here, you dont need the Hospital to sponsor you.You can also try in QP Medical Services.Once you are in Doha, you will have more choices. Anywayz GOOD LUCK.
