salary advice for mgt consultant role
I have interview next week with a company in Qatar as a senior consultant. I have asked the the recruitment agency what salary i should be asking for but their response has been 'its negotiable'. I have also tried looking on the net for a little info but there doesnt seem to be much around that helps.
Could anyone advise what base salary i should be asking for? I am pretty sure accom, car, a return flight and health care are included.
The role is a senior management consultant (not IT). I have a couple of undergrads, post grad qualifications, lean/six sigma black belt and 5 years direct relevant experience. ANyhelp on what to ask for would be appreciated, thanks
It could be a starting point for you. It has data from all over the world but in the oil industry only.

Better to wait the interview and see their offer. Anyhow, most likely you'll receive the offer few days/weeks after that and you'll have time to decide.
There are many posts on the QL about accommodation, schools and day bay day costs.
Hi,
I feel obliged to chip in that the 'belts' can be used. Atleast we should be optimistic about that :)
I guess you would have interviewed the employer to determine whether they know their need and how & where they want to use your skills.
Anyways, hard to put up a ball park figure. The range is wide. There are so many factors e.g., oil & gas companies pay much more than the others. I would say that if its a well established firm, they would have their standard compensation scales and you can wait and see what they have to offer.

Thx for the feedback. I have searched the QL website and the salary advice is mainly for IT consultants, which is not this role. In regards to using my current salary, i am a contractor, this role is permanent. Am i best to use the average salary for the role here in the UK? or the US? Or are neither applicable? Also thxs for the advice about the belts not being useful, and yes the recruitment agent should know!!!
Hi, I suspect you are trying to find out what is the msot you can get out, perhaps you should look at what you are worth and and what you currently earn. You may have a string of qualifications and belts but can you do the job......By the way your lean/ sigma belts will not be used here in Qatar for sure. Surely the recruitment agency know the range of the salary, if they dont then they are hopeless, they should also be advising you of what the 'going' rate is for your post.
