Salary Advice needed

Hello Everyone,

I came accross this forum because I was offered a job in Qatar. Since I know pretty much nothing I gathered some info from this forum. Now I know some more! :d

Since I have been offered a job which would be a challenge to me because I have not done it before I would need some advice on what kind of salary to expect. I think the general description would be a human resources manager. In a little more detail I would be responsible for setting up a team of specialists from all over the world, mainly middle east though. I would be responsible for getting the whole thing organised in about 3 years time. Along with that I would have to decide or at least input advice on the whole IT infrastructure, plan and schedule working times, etc.

So basically a whole bunch of stuff! :)

Now, what kind of a salary should, could I expect with this kind of "workload"? Basically the contract would probably be for 3 years with possibly an option for 5 more after that. It is a project, but since I have only been contacted about the job and had a few details told, I cant really say more since I my self dont know more. I would just like to be a little more informed before I have my interview. I would know what to expect here in Switzerland for that, but in Qatar I have no idea. Here I would expect at least 33'000 QAR/month.

Well I hope to get a lot of good answers! :D

Kind regards,

Hello everybody and thank you for the answers!

Well that is very interesting but I have another question: How about if I am being hired by a german company and I go to work for them down there?  Salary should still be the same?

And from what I have been reading it is standard to work out a contract with housing, car and utility costs listed separate.

So basically in the contract there should be a "line" with

x amount for car

x amount for housing and utilities

x amount salary

Kind regards,

David

Among asians is there any difference in salaries?

Which passport do you carry?

Your salary depends a lot on the nationality you belong to than what you are expecetd to do or what you are capable to do.
