Is this salary decent for Aircraft Mechanic in Qatar airways

Hi,
the posts here are really very useful and helpful for candiates like me, who look for a career in Qatar,

I am recently offered by Qatar airways, for Aircraft mechanic at Doha,
Basic: 5500,
Housing allowance :1750 or company accomodation
Transport allow: 500
laundry allow: 70

I am single as of now and with 2.5 yrs of experience in this area in mumbai, india.

Please let me know, if this salary is decent enough for life in doha and can i save anything?

your response would be of great help to me, as i have to decide for my career path on this now,

Do yourself a massive favor and give Qatar Airlines a VERY wide berth.

The wage is an insult, the housing is of poor standard and you will be sharing.

Working for any company here is like working on an 19th Century Plantation, but working for the airline is like that without the perks.

Hi,

I agree with the rest. Taking company accomodation will make things easier for you.

I compare your package (excl housing) with my spending, and could see that there is a saving of around 2000 QR. So I would say it is possible.

can you also clear me, whether there will be any savings in the provided package, for a sinlge person,

i mean what would be an average cost of living per month for a single person

QR 1750 FOR HOUSING ALLOWANCE VERY LESS EVEN FOR SINGLE IN DOHA BETTER TAKE COMPANY ACCOMADATION.
