Thank you guys and girls. I am divorced so I will be here alone (darn). The company will provide healthcare and two flights home a year. We are currently in negotiation for what happens if my son does join me. Schooling will have to be subsidised.
Other than that, I think housing will be an issue based on the amount allocated.
to look at if you are earning at least 10grand more than you were at home.
QR11000 is enough for a 2 bedroomed apartment, if you can find one, but a villa will cost you more, and will come out of your salary.
If your wife and child join you, the salary will probably be too low considering you will have to pay school fees, which are damn expensive.

Bliksen, totally depends on the position and your experience. And it also depends on how much money you need to send back home on a monthly basis. The plus is there's no tax to be paid to SARS (provided you stay out of the country for 183 days - do check with your accountant, though).
Seems good....housing may be an issue, some say its best for your employer to provide (with your standards CLEARLY made) others take an allowance then find cheaper or even shared accomodation. Check also on health insurance as that usually is provided with some companies
Thanks dragonfly212... I do have a kid, unfortunately he will stay with his Mom in SA till I can convince her otherwise. Not seeing him regularly is really going to cut me up, but... life goes on.

Had to chuckle to myself when I read your profile. Definitely a South African attitude about "dont talk to people I don't know".
Brazilian by birth and South African by attitude ...
