Is this salary was ok or not

Dude the salary is not worth it... And as for qatar airways the pressure is gonna be way too much for the salary can handle... for 1750 you will get a probably a shared accomodation..if ur lucky the roof wont fall :)...

I guess u should bargain more when u still can like MKx09 advised you too...

Since ur from india the currency is hitting new high so in near future u cant send much money home with the salary ur gonna get...

Think bout it... to be frank its a decent salary for a normal person but not an aircraft mechanic

the posts here are really very useful and helpful for candiates like me, who look for a career in Qatar,

I am recently offered by Qatar airways, for Aircraft mechanic at Doha,

Basic: 5500,

Housing allowance :1750 or company accomodation

Transport allow: 500

laundry allow: 70

I am single as of now and with 2.5 yrs of experience in this area in mumbai, india.

Please let me know, if this salary is decent enough for life in doha and can i save anything?

your response would be of great help to me, as i have to decide for my career path on this now,

Negotiate while you still can. Later you may be stuck on that salary and regret not pushing for more.

Be careful, you might repent latter. check what acco is the compy giving you.... hope it is not sharing... area ....etc you might be put in a filthy place as rents are high. Else a decent a 2 br appt may cost you in excess of qar 7500 / mth.

also depends if you are single....you do not earn enough for keeping a familiy...salary do not increase here easily..
