Teacher Salaries

Hi,

I'm seeking a secondary school job in Doha. I've 4yrs teaching experience and have been offered a job with a salary of 9600QAR a month plus shared accommodation & transport costs to school & medical cover. The contract is for 2yr's and I also get 6wk's gratuity when I leave.

I'm from Europe and enjoy a drink at the weekends. I also enjoy sports so would probable be looking for gym membership as well.

I though the salary offered would have been better. Any someone please advice? Thanks

It's too low, and you're entitled by law to 6 weeks gratuity when you leave- 3 weeks for every year worked.So don't think they are doing you a favour by paying you a gratuity,it's your right. BTW schools are desparate for teachers here so you can probably negogiate a higher salary.

The salary package is a bit on the low side and I would be put off by the "shared accomodation" part as well. It really all depends on which school, I guess.
