While waiting for a taxi for a quite long going to my work, A woman (about 40yrs) stop by in front of me and ask me where i am going, then i told her i wanna go to my office but its difficult to get taxi, she was about to go anyway to Madinat Khalifa which my way is a bit far, she told me just to ride and she will stop me where i can find taxi. But she prefer to bring me to my office in corniche. To her Thank you so much for her most specially for she thought me about Islam. Though i am born Muslim but its always been nice to get aquinted with someone who will show you what Islam is rather than just tell you what Islam is.

May Allah always bless her and her Family. Shukran for the Good teachning. Very Inspirational!!!

well thank you for being reasonable and polite with your reply:-); and since you acknowledge the touchy bit, we can now move on to your point; yes, I too feel the mention of faith/nationality/race is frequently completely unwarranted and irrelevant to the post itself; but there you go, its happening and nothing will stop it..like i said, we can only accept it as an alternate viewpoint and move on if we don't like what we see..not like we are on a high pedestal and fit to judge others are we? have a great weekend ahead:-)

Was she a SYRIAN?

Mohdata, yes, I agree. Being touchy does not serve anyone well.

Unfortunately, on QL there are numerous "touchy" posters. As you most likely have noticed, that when any faith is mentioned, more often that not a "shite storm" breaks loose...and many are "touched" by it.

To avoid this one has the choice to refrain from posting in the above mentioned manner :)

Lot of lols in one thread...

i believe the OP only intended to convey that she was made to realize the true essence of her faith by the actions of the driver; besides, all faiths teach goodness and it is actions like these which sometimes make one think..you admit yourself that she 'implied'..implication depends on interpretation of the former..i suggest you not be too touchy when people are openly sentimental about their faith; its a deep and profound part of many peoples' very existence and you'd do well to accept that there are ways of life other than your own. sorry for any unpleasantness.

Reminds me of the time I gave Suli a lift.

He was stranded on Mseeid highway in the middle of nowhere):

So out of the goodness of my heart I pull over and asked him to get in ‘n next thing I know he he’s climbing onto the roof of my car naked! ‘n actin all 'crazy'! O_o!

I guess it works in reverse here. Doesnt seem to be all that safe for the person being picked? Read a few times on QL people being picked up with some ulterior motives. Not that safe for the picked, I guess.

Super Cool

NEVER EVER EVERRRRRRRRRRRRR happened to me outside the GCC!!! Never got help in the US, in Europe in the Far East, in Latin America and in south Asia!!!

In fact back in the states, I was stranded once on a highway, stuck in the middle divider, in the middle of a snow storm and in the middle of nowhere, freezing my butt to death...and it so happens that a cop shows up out of no where, I was relieved.

The result.....well he gave me a ticket because he thinks I'm creating a hazard by keeping my car stuck in the middle divider...I LIKE I CHOSE TO DO THAT!!!!

The point is, regardless of what some r always trying to portray, ppl in this part of the world feel safe enough to stop for anyone and have enough compassion to care for the other man.

I think the person who posted this thread did one of the 2 options

1- He didn't really mean that Muslims are the only ones whom help people, but he was Just talking about his experience.

2- He really mean it, and he will be completely wrong, cause i have a lot of christian friends in my neighborhood in Jordan and i know how kind and helpful they are

Anyway if someone made a mistake, don't repeat it again or you will just be like him/her :)

Regards

The best part of QL is when you post something negative mentioning the nationality you get jumped upon by everyone (read PC brigade) that it is not right to mention nationality as it could be anyone. Shouldnt the same principle be applied when mentioning good about someone...just a human being like you and me, as good deed can also be done by anyone.

By nomerci• 17 Apr 2013 12:19

In fact, IMHO, it does not matter of which faith people are, or if they have any faith, there are good people everywhere. And bad, of course.

Sulieman, as it is clearly implied by the poster of the thread that a good hearted person can only be Muslim,as the person I mentioned in my post doing a good deed was at first attempt not, he naturally was converted by the pure grace of GOD into one. On the spot!

How else could it be???

Frez... that's a nice one... Theloneous what did you mean with your comment.. like i said I dont see a big deal in one person helping another... I have been in places where EVERY SINGLE person in that city would stop and help... I mean.. the very next car.. would stop and either help you fix your car.. or give you a ride... never had to wait for the second one.

I heard a story from the driver who is picking me up now, after i struggled with the taxis

He said that one time before he buy his car, was standing down the street looking for a taxi, a man (local man) stopped to pick him with his private car, but my driver was shocked when this man offered him a Hot Affair. he wanted to have sex with him by force ,,, damn

After this story i prefer to walk kilometers than going with strangers :(

Walk and stay virgin :D

What is the big deal.. i have picked up and given a ride to many people... not sure what the fuss is about ? But yeah.. i think it is a good deed, but everyone does it regardless of religion... in fact i would argue that it happens somehwere in the west or latin america a lot more often.
