Carrefour Experience
Here it goes, I bought Christmas decoration from Carrefour Villaggio at 20Qrs per box. I bought 30 boxes on 16th December. As the decorations were not enough on 17th December I sent my company driver to purchase 15 more of the same product by giving him a sample of what I had bought. My driver brings back 15 boxes but from Landmark Carrefour. This morning my accounts department comes to me and says how come I purchased each box at 20 whereas my driver got it at 12.5. I was puzzeled got both the receipts from my accounts and compared them it was the same stuff with the same bar code. I went to Carrefour Villaggio this evening with both the receipts and got a weird reply. The customer service is as stupid as they can get. The lady said that each Carrefour has their own price and there is nothing they can do. I asked for the manager and he was worse, he told me that its their product and they can sell as they wish. Come on it was a big difference, even worse he tells me that today they are selling the same products for 1 riyal so I told him if that's so ill buy a 100 boxes. So he goes checks and then tells me sorry we are out of stock.. So what's the point of them displaying a stupid board saying they will refund 10 times the difference in amount when they can't even return my original amount :(

aka is right - it is a game as to who gives up first - about a week ago we shopped in homecentre and they had charged us 3 times for one transaction. We called them up before they closed and they said come in the next morning to sort out the refund. Only to be told that they wouldn't give us the money back. I have to stamina and will of a beast in this situation - after 2 1/2 hours of loudly reminding them that taking money without consent is theft and then threatening to sit there all day and warn every customer of their thieving antics I finally got my money back in cash!!!
So if you really want your money back and make a point then pack a nag with some refreshments and be prepared NOT to back down at any cost - you will win in the end!

I've been told the same thing before. Carrefour at Villagio is the most expensive, Landmark second most and City Center the cheapest.
So carefoure is loosing customer loyalty?????? and Mr robert three carefoures are under single management and thier head office is at citycentre.May be three shopping malls are owned by different!!!!

You have the receipts so you should have lodged a complaint in the Consumer Protection Department. I think they are advertising on Karwa taxis giving the contact number and e-mail id.

is the management that inept? Change those francophone management.....
try making a consumer complaint and see what happens.
Publish a letter in the GT to see what response you get....
We also found that certain identical items in Carrefour City Centre were more expensive than Villagio. I guess they can charge for what ever they like!

82.SIJU You seriously haven't travelled if you believe what you just typed!! And seasons, from what I have seen, if you rant and rave, they will give you what you ask for just to get you away. Part of me wishes I could sit with a video camera and watch when people come up and service say no, no ,no and customer gets more irate, its a game to which gives in :)

They and their policy stinks. They have a big board hanging above every counter saying that. All i wanted was for them to admit they where wrong instead just made excuses.. They din't even bother to tell me that they could try to refund the excess amount they charged me..
Don't they have a policy on if you find an item for a cheaper price they will give you the difference plus 10% (or whatever?) so if they say the carrefore are different shops, shouldn't the policy apply?
Birds of same feather, flock together. Its becoming more
common in major outlets to jack the price and sell when the season starts. Forget, enjoy your festival mood.
