Before I fly to Qatar, I painted a romantic picture of this tiny, lovely, and small country in my mind. I thought, as Book-Crazy Reader, that I will easily find a group that will help me to keep my feet on the track. Having spent 3 months here….I think it is the contrary. Can you help?
Difficult to even find a good book shop here , the only ones are Jarir , Virgin and I spy book shop and none of them have books that you feel like reading .Often i end up buying books for the sake of just buying- of course there are umpteen books on the Middle East -- so i have been exposed to a whole new set of books than the ones I was used to back home and the books are so costly here
i didn't have as many expectation about doha when i flew here a year ago..but I share the same sentiments though! I didn't expect it of doha but I kind of expected my own life to take off into this romantic literary adventure..because believe it or not my own life always seems to be like a long novel..complete with literary devices and metaphorical foreshadowings.
anyway..3 months is just a short time! hopefully you will get to know more people..joining QL is definitly a huge help!
I'm also a crazy reader! let's get together! i'm thinking of setting a date when all of us crazy readers can just meet up once and for all...
Now dont get soo romantic, this country is below your expectations, when u come across the crazy lunatics that drive, u will know how not so romantic and lovely this country is lol.

you can keep your feet on track. Others will join in and you'll all find fun, not the contrary. FOCUS!
