A few days in Doha

I'm here! But only for a few days... But I'll (probably) be back!
If you only had today and tomorrow free in Doha and wanted to really get a feel for it to make sure you really wanted to live here - what would you do? Where would you go? Imagine of course you're a 33 year old single American male that is interested in the local culture, figuring out the lay of the land, and also wants to have a few beers at the end of the day. I'd love to find a place to chill with good food and a sheesha for a few hours. I'd love to "see the sites". I'd love to smoke the Cuban cigar I bought at duty free! I'd love to get out of my hotel without wandering around aimlessly in the sun! All suggestions welcome!

you need to go take walk around Souq Waqif (someone please correct me if i got the spelling wrong) .. this is in the evening .. havent been there during the day time ! here u can sample some of the food .. have some nice sheesha .. check out the souvenir shops along the main courtyard .. have some coffee .. its nice ..

for the beers .. well u could drop in at Ramada .. they have a live band playing some good retro n stuff .. good atmosphere .. you could book a desert safari and check out the dunes and inland sea .. let me know if want more details .. take care and have a nice stay :)

life goes on ..

and eventually get out to the bar of the Hotel for having "few beers"... This way you will have exact sense of the life, that you gonna have when come here for work.. the ony difference you will spend these couple of days in your bachelor accommodation instead of Hotel's room.. but the feelings are the same... Did I get you excited?

DO the smoking in your own room at the hotel, take a room with a city view that way you woldnt even have to roam around.

BTW what are the "sites" that you want to see?
