Filipino Hummer Owner in Qatar

Peng_H3_I5
By Peng_H3_I5

Hi Guys just want to know how many Filipinos here in Qatar own a HUMMER. Ive got one for two years now and since then I saw a lot of KABABAYAN driving it now. Maybe its a good time to have a group so that we can share/discuss any ups and downs using this truck.

Please indicate the Model/Year/Engine and location...thanks.

i have the first generation of H3 bought in 2006, in fact i was the first filipino to have this beautiful car, (check with Mr. Mohammad in GMC). It's a reliable car that you will enjoy every time you step on the accel, its not a race truck or whatever so don't expect to much on the speed. We decide to buy this car for my two children for their transport to Qatar Foundation School. Now its almost 68,000 kms now and my children finished their schooling and I want to sell it now to anyone who wants to own this well loved and beautiful car.God bless us all - peace.

I hate to break this news to all you Hummer lovers, but GM has announced it will shut down production of HUMMERs in a phased fashion. This happened because the sale of the brand to the Chinese company didnt go through (The regulators in China didnt allow it).

What happens to the resale of this car now? Jeez!

HUMMER THE BRAND IS NOT STILL SOLD TO CHINESE...THEY ARE PLANING TOOO BUT THEY DIDN'T ACCOMPLISHED THE MISSION ON THE BUYING OF HUMMER STILL...AS THE CHINESE COMPANY IS READY AND EVEN THE GM IS READY...BUT THE AGREEMENT IS NOT SIGNED BY THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT....THE LAST DATE WAS END OF JAN 2010 DUE DELAYS THE GM EXTENDED THE DATE...TO END OF FEB 2010....I HOPE THEY DON'T BUY

ANYWAYS IF THEY BUY IT WILL BE STRONGER AS ITS BROUGHT BY CHINESE HEAVY TRUCK COMPANY....AND THE IDEAS ARE STILL BY GM 20%

I JUST LOVE HUMMER......AND THOSE WHO DON'T..SHHH!!

On 1 February 2010 it was announced that Sichuan and General Motors had agreed to extend the deadline till the end of February as Sichuan tried to get approval by the Chinese government

peng is not bragging or showing off that he has a hummer, he is just calling all those pinoys to form a club or to get together the same as those people who have the same interest or hobbies. you people here really doesn't have anything to do, why criticize?

we would like to inform you people that owning a car or hummer or any luxurious car is "not a big deal" to us, be it being "enslave" to car loans or paid by cash is nothing, WE FILIPINOS LOVE CARS!!!!!!!!!!! there are already couple of filipino car groups here in qatar which is BTW, active not just with showing off but active in charitable events..

so all you haters out there, stop...

( i said "not a big deal" means it's normal for pinoys to buy a car, you'll be surprise to what kind of cars we own and have in the philippines)

another thing, it's not just the hummers that we have a group, there are also some mazda group, honda lovers, and the likes, there are also photographers, paintball gamers, etc.so peng is not just happy that he owns a hummer and wants to start a group, but this how us filipinos spend time with same interest or hobbies...

so why you people need to criticize or comment when in fact, this thread doesn't call on you, it calls to filipinos who owns a hummer!!!!!

Ok sandman69 mark this date and lets wait for that, maybe by that time im out of Qatar and have dispose of this rolling wreck, at least for now i feel safe inside this ugly, massive, iron box that always got stuck in the sand and rolls like a turtle...hope your not buying anything made in China...lol

By Sandman69• 1 Feb 2010 19:56
Sandman69

Now that HUMMER is owned by the Chinese, we should see the prices and the quality drop significantly. There is no status in owning one of these rolling wrecks knowing that your money goes to a place where human rights are non existent and trademark infringement is a common practice. Wait till it breaks and try to get quality parts for your showpiece. You will be wishing you bought a KIA then.

gadarene apologies accepted...and ur right sometimes people are driven by their desire to buy something that might affect their tenure here in Qatar, hope that they have a back up plan, actually its not just for hummer but for all vehicles, your better off if you have a buy back plan or rent to own options.

@ Peng, apologies for the tone of my post mate,my only point was this,i have BOTH Indian & Filipino friends who are & there's actually a term for it,"Car loan slaves",i.e they're stuck in this country because they chose to buy a car they could ill-afford & are now ready to leave but can't because they have to pay back the loan, their vehicles aren't worth as much as they have to pay back to the bank & i have no sympathy for them,it's a choice they made,so as long as you can pay back in time & aren't tied down in this country only by your car loan, you're fine...enjoy your ride!!!...

@ modulus,i'm sorry have we met? i'm pretty sure we haven't else you know i don't practice @ Dr.Sarah's,so you're wrong there Sherlock, there are a couple of Indian dentists @ Sarah's all of whom are very nice people & known to me but i ain't one of them,as for measuring up,i drive something that's actually manufactured in a factory in the US of A, UNLIKE the hummer which is actually manufactured in a plant somewhere in Latin America AND i paid FULL COLD HARD CASH when i bought my ride so i'm not tied down by ANYTHING here, the day i'm ready to leave,i pack my bags & do just that,THAT was the point of my post & yes you DEFINITELY will not be able to afford my ride mate, loan or otherwise so keep dreaming...

So dashwoot your lying when you said “i would never ever think of buying one” when in fact you bought one 3 years ago, which is which? You might be one of the unlucky guys who got the first batch of H3 and got fed of it, try the new Alpha. Now I know why are you crying coz you did not do your homework before you bought it, and what are you thinking racing a hummer, I’m not surprised if you always get stuck, you should know when/where/how to use it offroad, every car has a limit and disadvantage you should adopt to the situation and not the other way. Come to think of it that you’re a QHSE auditor, why your modifying your car in illegal way that endanger the people around you? That’s the type of driver that we want to avoid in the road right? Im happy with my dream crap hummer, landcruiser and XA hope that youll find your dream car soon before I finish my installment. Just give us our freedom of choice to enjoy it.

For those who are still planning to send their negative comments, do your own forum for “HUMMER HATER”, I just want to know the number of owners so that in the future we can exchange ideas and help each other.

I don’t need no research, i count on my personnel experience…i bought one 3 years ago i put 22 chromes on it, i used it for a few months and then i sold it, i lost around 20 k's in a 5 months time…it’s the slowest 4 wheeler ever…a 1.6 honda civic would play with it like nothing in race from 0 to the top speed which is nothing 180 km/h buff...it needs like 5 mins to get that, plus it’s a real ugly car without nice rims, after i put the rims it became really slow like a donkey…it would need 1 to 2 mins to get to a 100…in sea line it used get stuck every time i go there, it was a horrible experience, i was sooo happy after i got rid of it…now i got a 06 jeep wrangler with a big steal front and rear bumpers, a lift kit and a huge ass 11.5 inch in width wheels sticking out of all sides of the car which are illegal…if any car in the streets try to miss with me i don’t care i just hit it, cuz I know nothing is gonna happen to my car...no need to talk about offroading hehehe and a very fast 06 Infiniti G35. if you dont believe what im sayin just pm me and maybe we can meet up, i'll show you both...anyways it seems that it’s ur first time to buy a 100 k's car and you were dreaming all ur life to have anything called hummer…that’s why ur so happy now that you got a piece of crap called hummer that you wanna start a group lolz… what respect ur talking about... nowdays I see kids driving that crap…anyways good luck on finishing ur installments hehehehehehe
