By The real Aly Baba

Hello Everyone! :)

Hope you all are doing great!

Im just 2 weeks old in Doha....Moved here from Dubai where I studied/worked for past 5 years.

First off I would like to thank all the QL'ers for the amazing information that they have posted on this website. It has definately made it easier for me to start a new life in this new city. Big thumbs up to all of you for taking time out to share stuff with everyone.

Secondly, Doha till today has been full of surprises to me (Not necessarily good ones!). I find the city to be quite classical when compared to Dubai, Nevertheless its very beautiful with a big corniche in the heart of the city. I look forward to making it my home for the next couple of years.

I'm still new to this city and new to this forum, so I look forward to making a lot of friends and socializing, so let me start by introducing myself...

My name is Aly, Im 25rys old, Proud Indian although I was born and brought up in Saudi Arabia and lived most of my life there and in Dubai and now in Doha.

How bout you? :)

I used to live in Abu Dhabi for 3.5 years and now in Doha for 6 months.  Doha is a few years behind compared to UAE in many respects.  Traffic safety is a real horror.  Admin is very sloooooooooooooooooow and expect long waiting lines. You need a letter from your sponsor for almost everything, plus you need an exit permit when leaving the country.  It feels a bit like a prison.  This country has to develop in many ways....
