How do I feel? A mix of hope and fear. Hope that my soul and body with somehow reach the eternal success and peace I long for, and fear that they won't!

What comes to my mind? My deeds, the good and the bad of them, whch are the results of the actions of my limbs and the state of my mind, and on which the sucess of my body and soul are dependent.

Do I think my spirit and body is different? Yes but they remain connected.

Are the souls of animals and humans different? They may obviously have their differences but have one major factor in common. Death and mortality. For every living soul belonging to an earthly body will taste death.

Yes very different. And when we say spirit I would assume we understand the decisions of heart and brain as decisions of the spirit as there won’t be a difference between spirit and body then. The simple explanation would e that man has achieved much more than any animal. We have learnt from animals and developed machines, strategies, weapons, etc. and bettered the animals themselves. Superior being or not is a different question, but better, Yes !

Do you think Spirit is very different than you body?

Definitely different, body is only a medium for everything that a spirit seeks/does. Having said that, the body adds to the beauty of the spirit and enhances it and plays a big role in influencing the spirit to behave or adapt to certain ways. Think of a person who is physically handicap, his body does really play a big role how the spirit lives. Hence, both need each other and are indispensable without each other.

I read it in a book by Jane Goodall. There was a case of a mother and her daughter that would "rape" young chimps and kill and eat them. They were driven from the group. I doubt I could find it if I googled it.

I would appreciate if you share a link about Chimp rapists. The rape in other animals is called as forced copulations which is normally referred as natural process (aberration) not as rape. In my opinion rape in human being is an intentional and planned action which is normally carried out with the intention of revenge, self temporary pleasure I mean not for any reproductive purpose.

I don't know, I've seen duck gang rapes get pretty violent. But actually in certain chimp species there are definitely cases of rape and consequences for the rapists, such as being shunned from the group.

LLR I cannot explain properly, but our spirit carries our bodies and is a part of it cannot be different however we try to isolate it from it foolishly.

Yes mimi..but I think a human rapist is aware that he is doing wrong hence he is running away from the crime scene or trying to kill the victim and the source of evidence. Have you ever seen a Duck running away or killing another duck after raping?

LLR to me our birth is the creation of this world and our extinction is destruction of this world.

MM now you are concluding it nearest. Actually we have been bestowed with these things and still rarely use ourselves and discuss objectives which matter less to us. Everyone is induced with wisdom and we try to seek things in spiritual, but cannot hit the shot as too much energy is lost in visualizing unrelated things which animals don't do.

From outward appearances it would seem animals are less intelligent than humans, however, that is a matter of perception. They don't seem to suffer from the woes of pollution, poverty, abuse, etc that human's suffer. Perhaps by simply following their instincts and not attempting to pursue "more" they are far more intelligent than we are.

This is how I see it:

Animals have conscious awareness and intelligent brains and a perception/interaction with the world that is entirely different from the human perception/interaction.

It’s too arrogant of us to think we are superior based on our limited understanding of the animal world.

I think it is because of our selfish requirements. Animals don't have anything like it. They attack prey and eat only when they feel hungry, where as we are always greedy and cannot put a control on our selfishness.
