CK Sun2011 is right and the furniture these days is good too. We moved here 2 yrs ago and the furnished appartments were awful then atleast the ones we were taken to. Al Emadi guys have good buildings and Mansoura is a good locality for asians but that does not mean you will only find Indians here.

I dont agree with all of you. There are quite a few Indians here but I think there is a good mix of all nationalities and a good proportion too. I lived in UAE for over 30 years before we moved here and UAE sure does have loads of Indians compared to Qatar.

CK that's not a bad thing ok. Its good to have some balance right.

So when are you moving here? Which company?

Play schools are quite expensive. I never sent my child to a play school but she is doing quite fine going to KG1 now so I don't think its such a big deal to send your child to play school or pre school as long as you teach them general things like color and shapes etc

Kerala Indian or Non Kerala Indian? Majority of population here is Kerala Indian. Most restaurants are run by Kerala Indians with that typical taste generally not liked by non kerala indians. Kerala indians don't speak hindi.

Now you can feel comfortable if you are coming from Kerala else it will be like joining any other expatriate population, nothing to worry about though.

Rent for a decent furnished 3 bedroom is approx 8000. You can even get good one bed room furnished apartment and you dont need to buy anything for the house like appliances etc. There are many indian schools here like DPS and Birla Public etc, Public transport needs improvement but there are a lot of private taxi's that are quite helpful.

Qatar is a fast developing country, its peaceful and less expensive compared to UAE. There are many India restaurants like Aryas, Saravana Bhavan and Asha's and Asiana and many more.
