Private taxi : merits and demerits???

One day i was standing near some area after my job and was waiting for Karwa taxi. But i dint get any taxi for long time and one private taxi stopped. I thought once whether its safe or not but then i felt that's ok and i got into taxi. He stopped near petrol bunk and went outside. When he came back after 10 minutes he asked me sorry. I smiled and said that's ok. And later i realized i should not have smiled at him becoz after seeing my smile he just started chatting with me. I was not at all interested in him. He asked me my nationality my name and ofcourse address . I told him all truth. Since he was from some arab country and speaking arabic i couldnt understand his words but later on he spoke in english little bit so i could understand. And then he asked me for a movie and i denied him saying that i never go to theatres. Later as my house was near he asked me to learn arabic and i said well i am learning it... But then he asked me whether i am single or married ... i was so angry but then i replied him properly as i was scared that i am inside his taxi. Then finally when i reached near my home he asked me my mobile no. i just replied him politely to give his number as i was still scared. and he was happy and he gave me his number which i did not save and just told him that i will call him i lied to him and went off.

After that for a week or so i was thinking that if he would try to follow me but i thank god i never saw him...i always thought i should have scolded him badly but i dint want to grow enemy so i was polite and i avoided him politely...

these are few demerits of private taxi ...

Thank God you got off unharmed. I echo Chairboy there's a good reason these "services" are deemed illegal. I'd rather wait outside in the hottest sun, or coldest winds until a Karwa comes by(I have done so many times) than risk being driven away by total strangers.

i also took a private taxi once.because these karwas doesnt stop for a passanger..... It's a man who gave me lift actually....I thouught he was a driver and got into his car..and then by seeing his laptop i realised that he was not a driver...he started conversation with me....when I am about to get down from his car he told that he can arrange me a taxi and asked for my number ...I said give your number and I will give u a missed call....BUT i DIDN'T GIVE HIM A CALL.he may be a good one but how can they ask a number of a strannger . that too a lady..and

how do they expect that we will give them.

so If you get into a private taxi be carefull
