1. What is Ramadan?
Ramadan is the holiest month in the Islamic Lunar calendar. It is a time of spiritual and social rejuvenation and bonding for believers globally, through the ritual of fasting.
Ramadan varies between 29 and 30 days each year, due to the Islamic calendar which follows a lunar cycle. Islamic calendar moves back 10 days every year
Ramadan starts on a different Gregorian date each year.

2 - What is the Islamic calendar?
The Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar. This means that it follows the cycle of the moon. There are twelve months in the lunar calendar and in total it is 354 days long, thus making the Islamic calendar move back 10 days every year

3 - How long is Ramadan?
Ramadan is usually between 29 and 30 days each year, depending on the new moon sighting in the country you are in.

4. Is Ramadan always in the same season?
Because Ramadan is a lunar month, it begins about eleven days earlier each year
Ramadan will fall both during winter months, when the days are short, and summer months, when the days are long

5- What is special about Ramadan?
In this month, Allah (The One God) revealed the Qur'an (the final Holy Scripture) through the angel Gabriel to the last Prophet, Muhammad.

6 - What do Muslims do during the Month of Ramadan?
It is a time for Muslims to contemplate on their belief and increase their faith by actively increasing in worship, prayer and reciting the Qur'an.

Muslims usually wake up before dawn to take a small meal called "suhoor".
At sunset, Muslims break their fast is called ‘iftar’
Muslims put more effort in worship, praying, contemplating, helping others, giving charity, reciting the Quran (the holy book of the Muslims); many Muslims complete the Qur'an's recitation at least once in a during the month of ramdan.
from before one day of ramdan, special prayers will be conducting on mosques is callled "taraweeh".
114 chapters of Holy Quran will be recite by IMAM. and others listens to him.

7 - Does God command Muslims to fast the month of Ramadan?
yes. in Holy Quran Allah says, "Ramadan is the month during which the Quran was revealed, providing guidance for the people, clear teachings, and the statute book. Those of you who witness this month shall fast therein. Those who are ill or traveling may substitute the same number of other days. God wishes for you convenience, not hardship, that you may fulfill your obligations, and to glorify God for guiding you, and to express your appreciation. (2:185)"

8 - What do Muslims achieve by fasting during this month?
opportunity for spiritual as well as physical purification.

9. - Who has to fast in the month of Ramadan?
Every Muslim (except less than 9 years children) should fast the month of Ramadan.

10 - Who is exempt from fasting?
mentally handicapped,
ill-fasting may cause to danger to their health.
women, who are pregnant.
people who are travelling.

12 - What are the spiritual benefits of Ramadan?
Fasting is a complete purification and a means to developing the consciousness of Allah’s presence
Ramadan enables a believer to aspire to more lofty and intangible goals
learning the true meaning of contentment and gratification

13 - Are there any physiological benefits in fasting?
lowering of blood sugar, lowering of cholesterol and lowering of the systolic blood pressure.

15 - What is ‘The night of Decree’ (Laylat Al Qadr)?
Laylat Al-Qadr ("Night of Decree"-26th night of Ramdan. At this night Prophet Muhammad first began receiving revelations from God.
It is the night when the angels of the heaven descend onto earth to seek out and sit with the worshipers of God. It is a night of peace, tranquility and extraordinary phenomenon.

16 - What happens at the end of Ramadan?
Ramadan is celebrated with a festival called "Eid al-Fitr"
whole community comes together in various mosques and parks, and together thank God for His mercy, blessing and compassion and ask Him to be all reunited in Paradise.
