TFS.. Indeed an eye opener for many. However, slavery exists still in many countries. For example, it is still practiced in India, Pakistan and Nepal to name a few.

Sad story, but I disagree with the OP in that their are many, many strongholds of slavery around the world.
Hate to say this but check out the stoning to death of a couple in Mali this week. The barbarians are at the gates.....
