been following this thread for the past couple of days. i was sorely tempted to be on the defensive and say, 'no, not all f's are like that, don't generalize, blah blah blah.' but i know it won't help because some people's minds are set.

ReDbutterfly, you have every right to be angry and hurt. it is your place to be so. YOU ARE THE WIFE. you are/will be the mother of his children. marriage, in whatever culture, is sacred. i don't know anything about you or the other parties involved to assume that you've made mistakes in your relationship with your husband that led him to do that, or he's simply a jerk the way many men are. i'm not married so i don't know anything but i am simply amazed at how some wives (at least the ones i know) can accurately sense if their husbands are trying/intending/actually cheating on them even in the most seemingly improbable cases. it's like there's a radar installed.

there are many reasons for infidelity. i don't know if the other girl is simply easy, really lonely or if she was desperate enough to do that to get a job because her visa might be expiring or whatever and she doesn't want to go home empty-handed after getting into debt just so she could pay her ticket and visa to come here. whatever it is, be thankful you are not in her position. in the eyes of the world and of God, what she did can never be right. like what some people have said, the best you can do is raise a daughter that can never be this kind of woman. or a son that will not be tempted by someone like this. as long as you do not do anything wrong, you can hold your head high in front of anyone.

on your husband's part, maybe his explanation is simply what it is. he wants to prove he is man enough. or maybe he wants to 'taste' something else. or maybe it's a power trip too. he was in some sort of position to decide on a person's fate and took advantage of that to his benefit. or he wanted to do something that he wouldn't dare do to you because he respects you. but whatever his reason is, it doesn't make it right. you should be able to reflect and think back on his reasons or what went wrong because you know him better than anyone here. it is also in your hands if you decide to forgive him or not.

well i have different opinion than most of people here ...

I leave in Europe a little conservative part . I've been in Qatar just for few days and i don't know a lot about your tradition and how things going there exactly but i can tell you my way of thinking...

Easy to get girls - you can found everywhere and yea ,you don't have to blame them , if your man didn't wanted to cheat on you he wouldn't . About their moral values they have to think and their future husband.I personally think women should be 100% faithful because i think we cannot separate love from ... ( you know what i mean) . But men , well they can do it simply...

Other think which is well known here is that woman if had a great man, loves him, everything is great and if she meets other guy who is in all ways much better than her current man she will immediately leave her man for the better one , but if man is in the same position he will cheat on here woman but he'll never leaves her because men thinks about what do they have , and women thinks what they would have.

For example when woman looks for a man she thinks about his education ,willing to work and a lot different thinks for future life while men looking for a woman who is fitting at the moment...

So my point is of course you should be mad at your husband but one mistake doesn't means he don't loves your ,you are probably only one in his heart but of course it is up to you are you able to forgive him and find way to move on ...

And another thing about those girls , only way to fight against them is to raise you female child on right way .

1) She is not totally to blame. It takes two to tango no matter how he tries to justify it. What kind of an excuse is 'trying to prove he's a guy not a gay'? you're a woman yes? is it not proof enough that he has you? I would be insulted at that lame excuse.

2) If you forgive him and go back to him he WILL do this again. It's obvious he has no respect for you or his feelings, and doesn't deserve to be with a caring woman if this is how he's going to treat them. If in his eyes he 'got away with it', then he will think he can 'get away with it' again.

If you stand up for yourself and kick him to the curb he will think twice before breaking another girl's heart. Either way, the man you loved is gone.
