Starting a band?

Hi!

Im going to Qatar in the end of October and will stay there for about a year, or maybe more, to visit my father.
I've been visit Qatar a lot of times before, but never really meat any friends...

So, my question to you guys is: Are there anyone who has interest in creating a music band and at the same time make new friends and so on?
I can play drums and the guitar and i've been playing it for about 9 years.
I am interested and listen to many different kinds of music.
I've been playing in many different bands and it has been, pop, rock, Nu-metal, Metal and so on..
