Hi, i am writing from personal experience as its the 3rd time its happening to me in these 2 months i just to know if its happening to people around doha as well.

I live in Al-Mansoora, close to Al-meera in these 2 months someone has been opening my car and taking stuff out the first time they took money.. which i normally keep in the compartment, the second time... to my bad luck i left my mobile phone in the car and that got stolen too... now today the same thing happened... this time i did not leave any valuables in the car.

Guys please let me know if its common in any of your areas if so we can set up a trap for this guys , i'm not worried about ppl taking things outta my car just that i'm worried if someone can take take your stuff out... they can put stuff in too!

Sorry din log on QL as i was busy with work, well i did go to the Cop station and reported my mobile missing with the Serial number and stuff, so if this guy uses the phone that was stolen from my car, we can catch him!

Well all i can say is that if he can open my car without breaking the windows then im pretty sure he knows that we can track stolen phones too, probably would take it out of the country and sell it there. Just a thought actually.

The answers:

*Yes my car was locked the whole time. In fact im so paranoid bout locking my car now that i make sure its locked 2 or 3 times before i leave.

*Yes its a new car (2008)

----------------------------------

Well the bottom line is do not leave your valuables in the car esp overnight or if ure car is parked for over 2-3 hours.

And sorry again for the delay in replying to you guys.

Thanks

1. why would someone leave valuables like money in the car? Dont you have a wallet?

2. wont you lock your car?

3. Why people repeat the same mistake

4. Did you complain to the police?

Well Dude its not common here ... The thing is that maybe you dont lock your car but if u do than that person is familiar with you locks and he can open easily .. So i think you should set a car alarm in your car so than you can catch that thief easily ok :)

Cheers !!!

well we don't find your experience as a joke, some of us here are just wondering you've been robbed three times and as if you're not doing anything about it, first of all think of this Doha is not the same Doha 3 or 4 years before, it's not that safe to park your car especially outside your home anymore. install a car alarm if i were you.

but then again, if you got robbed 3x in a row, that THIEF is an expert.

Sorry to know about your misfortune. :-(

If you do indeed lock your car, and the thief manages to get in to your car without breaking the windows, then it sounds like it is the same person doing it repeatedly because he is familiar with your locks now, and has probably become quite adept at breaking into your specific car.

Try setting a booby trap of some sort for his next attempt.

My friend would park her car in front of her home their are only 4 spots and it would smell and the seats were moved, she came to the conclusion people were sleeping in the car, so now she locks the vehicle.

the same thing happened yestday on my friend, when i came doha, they told me that it is safe,no theft!so they does not lock up car's door.one proverb in chinasays that :don't think to hurt others, but must watch out for others.

Quite a lotta replies, well honestly telling you i was shocked myself when this happened, i just wanted to know if its happening anywhere else around? usually its a trend, its on for 6 months and its off, most people who steal stuff are not really from here, mostly on a visit visa or something like that, so even if u call the cops on em... no prints match... and there u go.. dead end.

So guys some of u might take it as a joke, as a couple of u did, with the lambo or a rickshaw, i appreciate the humor but i would suit a post where i caught the guy stealing from the car or he had got locked in and i found him in the morning when i about to leave for work!

Fact that its ure not your stuff missing from the car.. tomorrow someone could walk into your house, kill u in ure sleep and take all ure stuff and walk out and there is not a darn thing you can do about it.

Thank you for sharing your unfortunate experiences. Perhaps, seeing that has happened more than once, it is someone you know or lives nearby.

I, for one, know how horrible this can be. Although, it was our villa, that was broken into.

Thanks again for the heads up!
