its a big step for sum people!
cheers everyone your post hav bn gd keeep them comming.
I'm single and it doesn't worry me one iota! I find it very easy to make friends, especially through QL and a few other social groups I joined.
Basically, if you sit in your apartment bitching that you can't make friends, then you need to get out more.
As for going to malls, gee whiz, they are just shops for crying out loud. Why would anyone go to a shop to make friends? Go to a bar, coffee shop, football match, etc and speak to the guy next to you. Find people with similar interests. It ain't rocket science!!!
Did you Google it first?
I'm also single and coming to work in doha soon. Since they have family day, family park etc..for families, how do they know that i'm walking with a family member for instance?
Yep It here every thing is around family..But there are plenty of things that you mentioned above..But not very well organised and not so freely available as back home..

I'm sure I'm gonna get bashed by a few others for my opinion here but I'll be honest with you. This is a family place. They have family day at the mall, family parks, family sections in restaurants, family food stores...family, family, family. If you're single it really sucks here. There isn't much to do, there are too many men and few single women, everything is geared towards family life, and it's a dead boring place. If you have a choice think again about coming here.
Well, basically all of the stuffs you mentioned are available in Doha..but maybe not as tolerant and "open" compared with other countries..and don't worry, they are all single..
