Does anyone know that when the villagio mall will reopen and will it be shifted to some other place???? If yes, then which area??? Any idea or does anyone know about it??
Mimi perhaps my post should have been clearer. I know CC has been open for 2 months - my question is, where is the documentation supporting the reopening? The safety certifications etc?
Stealth - is there some reason for that? In my home country in such circumstances, Civil Defense or the Municipality usually make a public announcement that the place has been inspected and safety standards have been met.
Huh?????????????????? its been opened for over a month now. Been there a few times since the re open, personally, i didnt see any new saftey measures in place. Atleast to me everything still sucks as far as safety.....under ground parking still confusing, finding the door under the parking garage that leads to the mall.....To crowded even when I went right a opening time at 8pm during Ramadan.
i second to that, however, the first move will come from the owner and the tenants alike who have to submit whatever standard requirements the QCDD asks as per the regulations.
I have just been a number of times in the Villagio Mall, and I'd often noticed the lack if not all of the fire protection and necessity, the building should have in the first place.
In my previous post, My sister who works as a pharmacist at villagio said they have begun restocking inventories and reassigning employees to the mall, though they add that no official reopening date has been set by the Civil Defense.
You can feel free to call the Civil Defense to get and verify the facts my sister speaks about.
Tel. : +974 489 51 51/ btw they have a website for more info. http://www.moi.gov.qa
Only the QCD knows when it will be fully opened once The Villaggio mall will be given permit to reopen for business as soon as its ventilation, fire alarm systems and safety measures are fully compliant with the official requirements.
that as soon as the tests conducted by the mall’s management and the CDD are passed, a permit will be given for its reopening.
However, in case of failure of any tests conducted of the systems, the opening will be delayed until the issue is completely addressed, she said to just wait for the QCD to publicly announce it!!.
It is not ok to post false stories.... They will reopen the shopping mall as soon as possible, but it is also keen to ensure that it complies 100% with safety standards.
the Civil Defense keeps the mall management updated and stressed that no permit to reopen the complex will be granted before that safetly target is met.
This subject has been asked in QL before.

Just breath....peace out and wait for the public announcement. no one wants to rush anything to cut safety measures!!
opening? As I see, life goes on without it.. Maybe those who keeps asking these questions are the ones who used to work there and they are concerned about their jobs..

Civil defense doesn't give any public announcement regarding closure or opening of malls.

I still haven't seen any public announcements from Civil Defence or the MOI about the reopening of City Centre, let alone anything about Villagio.
Where can we find copies of these documents?

"They're saying"? Well if "they" are telling you this, then ask them for more info.
does anyone can tell updates about reopening of VILLAGIO mall?they're saying VIP section had open already?how about gate 1 and 2 when it will open?
wtf.. finish the broken roads first.Alkhor mall takes 3 years to built and what about the largest mall?
perhaps in two years under a new name and then they may even re name it as the Bombay Bazar
villagio will re open in six months
YES...NEXT CENTURY........
where they are selling ???????
and location pls.............and what time we can visit...
I think Villagio will not re-open anymore. The world's longest mall will definitely open in Abu Hamour.
Who said it was re-opening?
villagio mall reopens when?
When everything they fix the fire has caused.
Shops selling for QR 10 or QR 20 per item , like how they sell in back home road side stalls to clear their stocks.
Usually we see such sale when malls are demolished here also.
It might get demolished and may become some part of Khalifa/Aspire zone.
They will not open Villagio.
