Weight Loss
I am on the way to loss weight. I m 82 and i need to burn almost 17 KG (particularly from waist and belly) to be in healthy zone. I did read a lot on what to include in foods. The conclusion was , I should use Proteins and dietary Fibers as much as possible.
for Dietary Fibers, i am using whole wheat bread, apples and pears.
for Proteins, i am using almonds, nuts, lean chicken breast and whole eggs (is egg yolk good affect heart ?)
In addition, i am using fat free Yogurt and Milk.
daily 30 minutes walk on machine @ 6 MPH with 15 degree inclination...
please suggest any improvements i can make to the diet....

Key point to lose weight, and for those who want to lose that big belly:
Do not drink any kind of liquids when you eat!!! NEVER!
Drinking a lot of water, juice, or soda can cause digestion problems. Fluids leave stomach faster than solid food, so beverages tend to carry out the digestive juices of the stomach and the stomach is left without sufficient juices to carry on its work. This will eventually exhaust the stomach and cause it to produce more acids, which could result in heartburn or acid reflux. You end up having food staying in your stomach for very long hours (sometimes up to 9+ hours) then when you eat dinner you pile that on top of it. At this scenario, it DOES NOT matter how many hours you run, jog, walk, exercise, etc., you will still have that big belly sticking out.
Some people call this a "Korean Diet"--you can look it up online. I don't know what Korean diet is actually, but I have personally read this somewhere online and have been following it eversince and I feel great. I've also been maintaining the same weight eversince while exercising an average of 2-3 times a week (30-45 minutes each time).
I eat all kinda food, many times a day. I don't count carbs, calories, etc.

I am sure you are familiar with that but you wanted a shortcut but everyone in here all of a sudden is into the 100% by the book plan.
Sweety, you do not have to do any of the above mentioned bla bla bla.
Best way to do it is:
1- 1 day eat whatever you want
2- second day only have vegetables ( no meats at all and no carbs at all)
Do this for 1 month and you will lose about 5-7 kg depending on how much you weigh but I assume you are over weight.
The good thing about this way, you really do not have to not eat what you like .. you cat eat it but every second day. Of course for best results, even on that day where you eat what you like, do not eat rice, bread, pasta, sugars...
Look for the clean eating plan. It avoids fats but also sugars , which are just as bad as fats. Try veggies instead of fruit , as fruits are full of sugar. avoid bread, pasta and rice. try sweet potato instead.
reduce carbs and increase your walking time..
never eat yellow yolk, it wont give you any good..
its the best way..
Low Carb diet is the best and most effective way to lose weight.
leave bread (all kinds) and Rice.
Eat more green vegetables and fruits.. 5-6 KGs a month is guaranteed.
Walk for 10 minutes may suffice the requirement as well.
just continue exercise and proper diet..

Remember, weight loss is not easy. It is difficult; however, maintaing weight loss is a lot more difficult. Keep this in mind. Do not go for quick fixes.
Your diet seems pretty ok; however, I would suggest to reduce the dry fruit portion to a minimum.
Always include lemon juice (four lemons in one glass of water, once daily), grapefruit juice (3 grapefruits) and green tea. May I also suggest to keep increasing your exercise level.
Vegetables, vegetable, vegetables. Veggies is the name of the game in weight loss. If you are not stuffing yourself with green vegetables, you are not dieting properly.
Last but not least keep modest goal a head. Refrain from weighing yourself every day (but do so regularly though). Try to reward yourself for small weight loss (by drinking more grapefruit juice and less carbs).
Avoid the following like poison:
1. Cold drinks
2. Confectionary
3. Dressings
4. White breat

However, I believe that we have to change our habbits in everything, not just about food!.
Nevertheless, as transportations was and still important here in Qatar, In the other hand, you can't deny it has affected negatively on most of people in here.
Although, we have to act fast and start using our feet in something useful and better than just driving the car.

Instead of treadmills, jog in the park / corniche. Jogging is actually much harder than doing it in the treadmill and you can also enjoy the scenery and the clean air.
When jogging or doing cardio, alternate between low and high intensity workouts. Walk for 5 minutes and then run for 2 - 5 minutes and then walk again.
Try to do workouts and build up muscle, instead of focusing only on Cardio. Because muscles are more efficient in burning fats and the fact is that your body will keep burning calories even after you've done your workout.
Don't eat after 3pm, or eat yogurt and a single fruit (banana or apples).
Cut down on processed or fast foods to avoid those unhealthy fats and chemicals.
Last, sleep for at least 8 hours, recent studies has linked fat build up with lack of sleep.

hi i was diagnose hypertensive on july 2012 after that i manage to loose 23kg in 2 months..i just walked 1 hour everyday and follow "Atkin Diet" which sometimes they called low carb diet
