Sheikh Joaan inaugurates Doha 2030 majlis in Muscat
With a host of prestigious international events held in Qatar in recent years, the country has evolved into a powerful sporting hub in the region.
Aiming to build on its impressive track record, the country set its eyes on the 2030 Asian Games.
QOC unveiled the slogan and the logo for the 2030 Asian Games in September. The slogan of the Doha 2030 Asian Games is ''Your Gateway."
In November, Doha 2030 Asian Games Bid Committee also welcomed members of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Evaluation Committee to Doha to show the capital’s Games readiness and commitment to serving as a gateway to legacy now for Asia.
As it continues to take steps to bolster its profile as a potential host country, the President of QOC His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday launched the Doha Majlis at the JW Marriott Hotel Muscat.

Chairman of Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) Sayyied Khalid bin Hamed al-Busaidi and other dignitaries were also in attendance at the launch.
The majlis, which is located near the main hall of the venue for the 39th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia, showcases the details of Doha 2030 bid file as well as shined a spotlight on Qatar's main sports facilities.
The majlis saw several guests including representatives of a number of National Olympic Committees who learned more about Qatar's bid file.
The 74th Executive Board Meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) is set to take place in Muscat today at the Kempinski Hotel.
According to a statement by QOC, "The meeting will discuss the report presented by the evaluation committee on the cities of Doha and Riyadh as candidates to host the event."
"Wednesday will see the announcement of the winning bid to host the Asian Games 2030," the statement adds.
