Help me a way out with my sponsor

Hi. I came to Qatar on a work visa (residency visa) with NOC and I was given three months to change to another sponsor. But unfortunately it took more than 6 months for me to get a job because I was waiting for one job for three months. Now my new sponsor has paid all the fine and changed the visa to his name. The problem I have with my new sponsor is before I join he said he will pay the fine and he will give me a certain salary but as soon as the visa was changed he said a lower salary and deduct the fine charges in my salary. And also I have to work 7 days a week no dayoff, 10 hours of duty everyday except for Friday 5 hours. I don't get paid any overtime. When I asked for release he threatened me, I said I will pay all the money he spent. Also I didn't get the job I was promised I have been made to do cleaning and make coffee. He has taken my passport and all the educational certificates. Still I didn't go for finger. Please help me.

Ofcourse you will come accross people like MM who will tell you that the sponsor is your guardian and father and must be obeyed and respected - What they don't realise is that there are many fathers who beat their children :O(

Sadly, you learned a harsh reality - You should complain about the damned Ambassador ...

Most are lucky to go through their contracts without issues - however some come up against employers like yours and suffer - with no one to help them.

My sympathies are with you

"Where is the justice in Qatar?" - It's nowhere in Qatar.

Dear Shafan,

If you are new to the GCC or Qatar, the initial period will be tough unless you have specialized experience.

Being known the situation, I may not opt to the option of guiding you to a path which is blind. After pushing you to the same and when the result comes, I am not an inhuman to enjoy.

However during your future engagements please study exactly the reality of the place. The reality will help you. Out of the country working amicably will give you good results.

When hudaibiya deal was done during the prophet Mohamed Salallahu Alahiwasaalam’s period, it was not on His favor and still He accepted.

Sometime the path would be initially difficult and down the line it may blossom. However wish you good luck and hope you will get much better chances in the future.

Think everything happening for your good. Just in case if you did all the above exercise by listening to someone or there is lot of people who brain wash as well. Please take a note of them in the future.

I never want to make your case reasoning through above note.

But I only advise you to be much more practical in this part of the world.

This is my personal opinion.

Guys you know what happened to me finally. I'm to be deported from Qatar by 25th may. Still I couldn't even get my life of hardwork certificates (original). My sponsor has blocked me from ever coming back to Qatar ever again. What can we do? They are rich. This is their country. Beware guys the company name is Diaralazzcars showroom. I went to human rights they didn't even listen to me. There is no where I could go to as my sponsor has given a house driving visa the labour courts doesn't even accept the case. Even if I had file a case the odds are its gonna take more than 3 months for me and finally he is going to win the case with his power and money. Where is the justice in Qatar? We are slaves. My sponsor took me to his home pulled out my phone and tried to hit me. Just because I asked NOC or exit permit. I went to the human rights after the ambassador of the embassy asked me to go as I sent an email to the embassy. But still this is what happened. So think about the situation of a labourer who is not educated.

Sadly your case is not untypical ... I would suggest contacting your embassy first .. Then perhaps go to the human rights commission ..

You should not have to pay the employer anything

As I'm a local joiner will I be able to get NOC if I paid the whole amount the sponsor has spent? He shows no mercy. I've been treated like a slave. I've spent a lot to get here. I have family responsibilities. If I file a case will I have to go back to my home country? Please advise. Thank you guys for the support it means a lot to me

WT, Everyone does it. Every man asks his wife before going out even to fetch potatoes ............ Exit permit means both parties know who is at which place ..... take it in positive spirit ......... tomorrow if you hide some where ...... and your dependents will definitely ask your sponsor for your whereabouts .........

I never needed an exit permit from my parents!

You can seek assistance from Human Rights and do it immediately. They may ask you to file a case in the Labour Office. As for the advice given by someone saying "our sponsor are our parents" just overlook it as the person regularly puts across his "philosophical" thoughts.

I have done everything. I have cried, pleaded I'm doing whatever he asks me to do. What else am I supposed to do.

Stop, Never fight with your sponsor. Our sponsor is like our parents at our home , better talk to your seniors with a humble face, you will benefit in many ways ..........

Do as WT says . Make sure you contact human rights commission and don't give your sponsor the chance to report you as an absconder
