Tourist visa to family visa?

Hi all,

My wife is here on a tourist visa (3 months valid, until half of July). I can apply for a family residence visa through my company, but only starting at the end of June (when I have all the stamped documents completed).

Does anyone know if my wife has to leave the country first and enter on the family visa or can it be converted here? How lang can she stay on a family visa (before she gets a residence permit)?

Hope someone has the answers! Thanks!

No need to leave the country, once you get the visa then goto medical commission tell them that convert visit to residence, you will be charged 500QAR for that.

Note: If your wife is on arrival visa , should be exit and enter with new visa.

Thanks all for the replies!

So she has to go out of the country - - > then enter on a family residence visa - - > do medical testing and finger prints - - > receive RP. Is that the right order? (or don't leave the country and pay the penalty..)

you can convert the tourist visa to family visa but you need to pay a penalty or she can go out and return we family visa, If I am not wrong the penalty is 500 QAR

Your post is a bit confusing. First of all, a tourist visa cannot be converted into a permanent residence visa while your wife is still here. She will have to exit and come back on the permanent visa. Second, I could not get to understand your next query and as such cannot comment.
