Procedure after renewed passport but RP with old passport while on leave in India

My son's passport is damaged and he is now in India on vacation. There is Resident Permit (RP) for him as well. I have already started the process to get new passport in India, can anybody advise once passport is received then is it required to get RP with new passport number mentioned while travelling back to Qatar as they usually asked RP/Visa copy at airport? If yes, can anybody advise the procedure as I am also going to India next week and want to come back all together.

Best to consult the Indian Embassy or Immigration dept

If he is entering Qatar on a new passport, there is a process.

The easiest is to go to the ICBF / ICC and there the staff will advise you best.

I guess he can travel to Doha keeping the old passport and the new one together. Once in Doha, you should have the RP transferred to new the passport.
